Forever Grateful
Forever Grateful for a Quiet Stranger One peculiarly warm April afternoon, our life was turned upside down when my daughter had an accident while we were playing outside. Looking back, it was one of the scariest times of my life yet full of hidden blessings and miracles. The following days and months would prove to be trying as I juggled keeping everything at home afloat while camping in my daughter’s hospital room. We were in a big city hospital but my two sons at home hundreds of miles away with family.

Most of us would immediately call the authorities to report abuse if we witnessed it, but all too often it is just not that easy. Abusers are crafted in their skill and often two steps ahead of a phone call to the police. If you have been in, or have loved someone in, an abusive relationship, you probably already understand that the complicated dynamics of reporting abuse can leave many of us questioning what we can really do to help.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in a state where winter is not just that time of year when Christmas takes place, but a season where frostbite is a real possibility when putting your groceries in the car.
