The Humble Poet
This poem is dedicated to a dear friend and fellow Vocal creator, Mike Singleton - Mikeydred. He is a truly humble poet, thus the title, and has an expansive and highly expressive portfolio of poetry and stories. The intense rawness in the way he creates his craft has a very palpable intimacy that is inspirational and full of heart. I have collaborated with Mike so far on two poems, and I feel his talent and highly mature perspective on poetry has helped me grow as a writer. He is my brother from another mother, as I so often tell him! Here is my take on a sonnet, hopefully it is correct!

It’s Torture
I’m working up the guts to ask him to marry me. I’m so in love with him, I can’t even think straight. He’s so poetic and funny and wonderful and sweet, and someone I never thought I’d be with, but now that I’m with him, he is someone I can’t imagine my life without.

Extra series 2021
Here is the link to the first set of series: This wraps up my series for 2021 if you’re interested in reading my completed or in progress stories, which plays on a great idea (originally from lovely fellow Vocal creator Caitlin McColl)to organize and catalogue your profile’s series to showcase it to your (potential)reader-base. I have below this description a list of series you may be interested in reading and some characters of mine you’d like to get to know. I’m sure they’d like to meet you, too.

Marigold’s Ballad
Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. Marigold dreamt of hazy blues and reds and yellows high in the clouds, even as every night she would awaken at exactly midnight to this strange violet phenomenon. It was trying to tell her something, but she didn’t know what.
