There are many vendors that offer products and services to Canadian libraries that have similar product offerings. The information available online from each vendor can be compared and contrasted to identify their products and services.

Change is inevitable and the library and information industry is not immune to it. I understand why you think that libraries will disappear and how they are no longer needed. We all have our own ideas of things and if you are willing to listen then I would like to share some reasons why I chose to explore this field.

The Canadian Judicial System
Three branches of government work together to govern the country of Canada: the executive, legislative, and judiciary branches. The executive branch is the decision-making branch to which the Crown entrusts executive authority. The Head of State or the Monarch is represented in Canada by the Governor-General. The Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet aid the Governor-General by advising on governing the country. People appointed into the Senate and people elected to the House of Commons make up the legislative branch, the law-making branch. The Senate is composed of 105 senators appointed by the Governor-General on the advice of the Prime Minister. The senators represent Canada's regions, provinces, and territories. Canadians elect the members of the House of Commons to represent defined electoral districts. Currently, 338 seats in the House of Commons belong to different political parties. The number of seats that the party holds determines whether the House of Commons is a majority or minority government (HCC). The judiciary branch involves the Supreme Court of Canada, federal courts, and provincial courts of Canada. The Supreme Court of Canada is taken care of by nine judges appointed by the Governor-General (IRCC). Each provincial government appoints judges for provincial and territorial courts that it belongs to (DOJ).

Nesting to Rest
Nesting is a behaviour that is characterized by the urge to clean and organize. Different sources identify nesting as a behaviour done at specific times of the year, often related to spring cleaning, preparation for childbirth, or welcoming a newborn. The new year is another good time to practice nesting as it prepares one's habitat for another year of living. It is common to include " keeping things organized" into one's new year's resolution, whether in the form of keeping an updated planner or making the bed every morning. With the popularization of home organization shows, people have found their niche in their nesting behaviours. With the rise of work from home movements, it has become a staple practice for me to develop a nesting to rest attitude towards home organization. The following list includes 3 goals that I want to reach as I live through the year 2022.

Sinek's Golden Circle
Communication is the transfer of information and understanding from one person to another (Mohawk). In his TEDx talk "Start with Why: How Great Leaders inspire Action," Simon Sinek introduces the golden circle. As an image that he drew, the golden circle is composed of three eccentric circles where the innermost circle contains the word "why," the middle circle has the word "how," and the outermost circle contains the word "what." He describes the golden circle as the world's simplest idea that explains why some organizations and leaders can inspire people when others cannot (Sinek). He uses the golden circle image to emphasize the importance of communicating why something is done instead of highlighting what they need to do. He claims that leaders who openly communicate purpose, cause, and belief inspires others and that this inspiration drives people to follow willingly or do what they need to do. Sinek believes that people follow those who lead, not because it is a need but because it is a want and that those who start with "why" can inspire those around them or find others who can inspire them.

Journal Finds: The little black notebook
Journal Finds: To Be Filled or To Be Emptied Some people collect stamps. Some collect shoes. Some collect memories and experiences. Myself, I collect journals. Whenever I came home from wherever I’ve been, I would always end up with a few journals from random bookstores. Spiral, composition, prompted journals, planners, art notebooks, name them all, I would probably have them stored somewhere. To me, the blank pages represent fresh new beginnings.
