How the Mind of Maurice Bernier Works!
In this article, I decided that I need to do something different. I needed a subject that needed to be examined and thoroughly analyzed. I needed a subject that is so elusive that even the psychological FBI of the mental health world would have a tough time locating it. So, I decided that the subject that needed to be placed under the microscope today is...ME!

Getting Around In New York City!
I LOVE MY NEW YORK CITY! Say what you want. It IS expensive. It can be dirty at times. It can even be loud, but it is still MY home. I LOVE it here! I was born here. I was raised here. I live here. By golly, one day, I will have to die here. It is my home! I LOVE YA, NEW YORK!

Whatever Happened to My TV?
Times are a changing, folks. What once was no longer is. Go to your closet. Put on that shirt, if it has not been thrown away, from 10 years ago. If it is loose, you’re very lucky. If not, I understand. Look around you. What has NOT been changed in the last ten years that does not require a fitting of some sort? In my case, I am scared to look into a full-length mirror.

The Ultimate Superheroes!
I don't know about anyone else, when I was just barely older than the sandwich I ate two weeks ago, I started reading some comic books. I did not read that many, but I did have a small group of superheroes that I liked even to this day: Spiderman, Iron Man, Superman, the Incredible Hulk, Batman, and the Green Hornet. Whenever their shows or movies came on, I could not wait for the opening credits. I just enjoyed them. Even my nickname (Joker) invokes the memory of the Dark Knight, not the Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, but of Batman (a.k.a. the Caped Crusader) and Robin (a.k.a. the Boy Wonder).

How To Propose
I am a very single man! Already, I know what your question is going to be. “What qualifies you to tell us guys how to propose?” I am qualified because I have friends who are married. My parents were married to each other. I have observed MANY proposals and I learn by observation. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, how did I figure out the steps? Easy! I talked with my married friends, mostly guys, but there were a few lady friends who offered some tips, too. I spoke with my parents. Finally, I watched MANY proposals on TV and around the city. I came away with all the tips.

Passing a Bar (Rescue) Exam!
Let me start off this article by making it VERY clear that I am a teetotaler. That is, I NEVER drink alcohol. I don't stop anyone else from doing it, but it is not my thing. According to Wikipedia, "Teetotalism is the practice or promotion of complete personal abstinence from alcoholic beverages. A person who practices (and possibly advocates) teetotalism is called a teetotaler (plural teetotalers) or is simply said to be teetotal." For me, alcohol has more drawbacks than benefits. People get into auto accidents. Other can't control their emotions or bladders. And others get sick or generally act stupid. I can do all of that WITHOUT imbibing in alcohol. Thank you.

I Wonder
Wonder. What an amazing word. It gets the mind to thinking about things. It makes the imagination active. It can make you scared or it can make you brave. It can do many things to one's mind. Most of all, it is mysterious because you never know its answer.

My Friend Loneliness!
I have reached a point in my life when I must accept what is. Way back in the year of 1956, a happy baby boy was born in the month of February. When he was born, he had no bills, no taxes, no worries at all except where he was going to get his first meal. He came into the world and people took care of him, hand and foot. The more he screamed, the more he got. He had plenty of people around him. He had protection in every form possible. He came into the world alone and was welcomed with open arms.

Success Is the Very Best Weapon!
If you were to ask somebody for the meaning of success, they would probably define it in terms of money, status, or anything else. According to Wikipedia, it may refer to "attainment of higher social status, achievement of a goal, for example, academic achievement or the opposite of failure." All are correct. No argument from me, but I wish to add one more. It is the refusal to abandon one's personal goal no matter how much another person tries to keep you from reaching your goal. Once you can stick to your goal, despite the negativity, you can achieve success by all definitions.

The Big Sister I've Always Wanted!!
I am a huge advocate of the computer. I practically live with it. I can never do without it. My life is pretty much geared around it. Obviously, this article was written with it. During the course of its use, I may need to use the internet from time to time. When you come across something interesting, you would bookmark it so that you can go right back to the exact page you wanted. You might change the page in some way, but you can always return to it at any time in the future anytime you want.

Lady, I Love YOU!!!!
Lady, you're in love today but what about your broken heart tomorrow? I know that you are very happy today, at least it seems like you are very happy. Are you sure? Is he everything that you were hoping he would be OR are you just trying to give him a chance to show you better? Is he actually trying to do his best? If you think so, maybe I should go away. Is he? Does he treat you like dirt at times? Does he REALLY appreciate you? Does he realize how good he has is someone so lovely as you? I don't know. Do you?

Hip! Hip! Hooray! It's Graduation Day!
Hello to all graduates everywhere. When I was a toddler many, many centuries ago, my parents, like many other great parents, would read me bedtime stories. One of the stories that made a deep and early impression on my life involved an engine of a train that, when faced with an obstacle, would be known to say, “I think I can. I think I can.” I believe the story was called "The Little Engine That Could" by Platt & Munk. I also believe that you may know it as well.
