Dear Jeanie
Dear Jeanie, I don't usually write you letters. When you went to the Boston Conservatory of Music, in the early 1990's, I wrote to you, but you never wrote back. Instead, you called me on the phone long distance, which cost a lot back then. It wasn't until I continued to write and you called me once a month, that I finally saw the pattern. I asked you why you never wrote to me, you finally told me you were Dyslexic. I didn't know what that was, so I looked it up. The internet was brand new, but I was still checking out books from the library. It was still a few years before I understood what a difficult time you had reading and writing. I am in awe you were able to graduate with honors from the Conservatory.

27-9 Feng Shui Challenge for Spring
Cleaning is not my forte. In fact, on a list of ten items it comes in at number ten. My siblings and my daughter also despise tidying up, and we clean the same way; we put things into piles, then put each pile away. We come by it honestly, our father was untidy, we just never knew it, because my mother picked up after him for 40 + years. When she passed away, we saw him as he really was, he made piles just like the rest of us.

If You Love Will Ferrell, Then Watch This
I am not a true Will Ferrell fan. There are many of his films I haven’t bothered to see, because I am not a fan of stupid jokes, or Three Stooges-type pratfalls. Some of the scenes of his films are downright painful in their idiocy. That being said, his SNL "cowbell" skit was classic, and Elf is in our lineup every Christmas. But the first movie of Will Ferrell’s that I fell in love with, was the 2007 film "Blades of Glory."

My Personal Anti-Valentine Playlist
I have always had mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day, neither loving nor hating it. This year, as I sit and look at the snow piling up on the trees, I have decided to put this day into perspective. Well, my perspective at any rate.

Pandemic Blues
Eliza trudged her way to the mailbox one damp, cloudy, miserable Monday. Three hundred days and counting, the world had been isolated because of the Pandemic of 2020. She and her partner, Matt, had a nice house tucked away on a large lot behind some zoned businesses. They were fairly secluded and had been able to ride out the Covid-19 virus pretty well thus far.

My Guilty Letterkenny Pleasure Binge
I returned from abroad on January 30, 2020 because of COVID-19. I was in Mongolia teaching English and having a great time! There wasn’t much on the Netflix lineup in Ulaanbataar, so my daughter had a lot of shows she wanted me to see when I arrived on her doorstep that rainy, winters evening.

Finding My Weigh
How many times have I said this is IT? This is the year I get it DONE? How many times have I tried and failed before the month is over? Let’s be honest, before the first week is even over. How many times have I taken that failure as a sign that I was not meant to succeed? Our minds keep us locked into our comfortable existences and holds us hostage to our failed dreams.
