Compassion in Action
Living as an empathetic person in today’s world is fraught with pain and tension. Empathy means to ‘feel with.’ To identify so deeply with the suffering of another being, that you become immersed in their pain. It seems noble. It feels like an effective method, I mean, it is good to acknowledge the pain of others. It is nice to let them know you see their suffering.

My Rocks Amidst the Hard Places
I have lived with chronic pain and fatigue of one sort or another for most of my life. When I was around four years old, both my youngest sister and myself were infected with Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and spent a long time in hospital. The Meeting
The train rattled to a stop and Peggy pushed herself to her feet, stumbling towards the doors. Her heart set up a staccato beat as she alighted onto the platform. She paused a moment, earning an annoyed click of the tongue from a fellow passenger. Collecting herself, Peggy moved to one side, and then skittered to the safety of a billboard on the platform. She rummaged in her handbag, pulled out a folding mirror to check her hair and makeup. She met her reflected gaze and drew a shaky breath.

The need to confess...
One of the most aggravating aspects of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), is the compulsion to confess. I might imagine that I have said or done something to offend a friend, or a stranger. I might imagine that I have broken the law, or forgotten to turn off my oven before leaving the house, or any of a hundred and one different scenarios my mind can conjure up. All tailor-made to drive me to distraction.
