Taxi driving experience
I remember seeing the new taxi company start with one old purple Oldsmobile with a home made top light. The owner used a pager which his wife would answer the taxi phone at their house. 672-9897 was the taxi phone line. Now, for those of you who do not know what a pager is please let me explain.

I first tried to get my class four in 1988 while working in Banff. I was 20 years old and had just completed my first year at Bible college. I did not do very well when it came to grades. My goal was to go to college to find myself a wife.

Memories from my childhood
When I was a young teenager, my Father started a new business adventure. He had gone to an Agricultural school for four years in the Netherlands. So, he had a lot of agricultural experience. However, at this time, he was a police officer, not a farmer.

My memories of my parents
My Father was born in Holwerd, Friesland, the Netherlands on July 30, 1929 to Pieter and Aaltje van der Woude who farmed outside of Holwerd. My Father was the third child of five children born to them, Egbert, Djoke, Paulus, little Lammert (who died as a baby) and Lammert.
