What Happened When I Started Walking.
Having suffered a variety of age-related illnesses over the last three years, plus a serious accident when I broke my left hip and leg, I have piled the pounds on somewhat. The main problem has been not only the inordinate amount of time in a hospital bed, but also what is called a sedentary lifestyle. One second too soon, one second too late, and all would be gone, forever.

Walking Your Way To A Longer Life
Way back in the eighties, I took it upon myself to do a long walk of twenty-two miles around the boundaries of the town in which I lived. It was an annual event called 'The Beating of the Bounds'. The walk was in aid of some charity I cannot recall the name of, but I was always in favour of any good cause that would also do me a great deal of good.
