What Is Trauma Bonding?
Trauma bonding is a powerful attachment that forms between a person and someone who intermittently harms and “rewards” them. The cycle of idealization (charm, love-bombing), devaluation (criticism, threats, manipulation), and brief “repair” (apologies, gifts, affection) creates an addictive bond.

Evan
It was raining the afternoon Evan ducked into the used bookstore on the corner, the kind where the bell above the door sounded like a toy and the cat chose customers like a sovereign granting favor. He wiped his glasses on his sleeve and breathed in the smell of old paper and damp wool. A record player in the back murmured Nina Simone.

Mara's Garden
The year Mara got her first plot in the community garden, she pressed her bare wrist into the soil the way her grandmother had taught her and flinched. “When it bites,” her grandmother used to say, “it’s still winter pretending.”

Seeds of Correction:
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6–7). Scripture reminds us that our role is to sow faithfully while trusting God with what happens beneath the soil of another heart. Most of us imagine seeds as encouragements, acts of service, gentle nudges. But sometimes the seed we’re called to plant is a hard word ... a loving reprimand meant to protect, restore, or redirect. When correction becomes a seed, it must be wrapped in love, delivered with kindness, and stripped of judgment.

Monetizing Spiritual Gifts:
The New Testament teaches that spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit “for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7). They are entrusted to believers to build up the body of Christ, glorify God, and serve others (Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Peter 4:10–11). But in a world where ministry requires time, training, and resources, is it biblical to receive money connected to spiritual gifts? Scripture offers both permissions and boundaries.

Can the USA Regain It's Credibility
America’s credibility problem didn’t begin with one president and it won’t be solved by electing another. Allies and competitors alike watched the whiplash of the last decade ... withdrawals from agreements, tariffs on friends, rhetorical swings on alliances ... and drew a sober conclusion: U.S. policy is now subject to abrupt reversals with each electoral cycle. Even if Washington resumed every “pre-2016” habit tomorrow, the world would price in the risk that it could all be undone in four years. That trust discount will shape geopolitics ... and our prosperity ... for a long time.

Thinking Before Defending:
In a world of instant replies and hot takes, it’s easy to react first and think later. Scripture consistently warns against this. The Bible commends patience, listening, and understanding over knee jerk defensiveness and ignorant argument. This is not weakness; it’s wisdom.

Consequences for Misusing Spiritual Knowledge:
Scripture consistently condemns leveraging spiritual truth, position, or gifts for money, control, status, or other unholy ends. God defends the vulnerable, purifies His church, and judges corrupt shepherds and deceivers. Here are the biblical consequences, with examples.

Dealing with Narcissists and Hateful People:
Scripture doesn’t use the modern term “narcissist,” but it speaks plainly about the proud, abusive, quarrelsome, and unrepentant. It also calls us to love enemies without enabling evil. The Bible’s way is a blend of truth, love, and wise boundaries.
