Lifting the Haze. Content Warning.
“I can’t wait for tonight!” I murmured to myself while flashing a cheeky grin at the screen. I glanced at my phone. It was only 9 am! Maybe a little after. I knew it was early; I would have a long day. I knew I had to work until 8 pm. After 8 though… The world would be my oyster. Until then, I would fantasize about my chill night to happen after work. I craved my solitude.

Drunken Musings on a Friday Night
Work was busy; I had a stack of cash. My legs and back ached from serving tables all day. I had my adrenaline spike even though I was greatly fatigued. I counted the dollars. “Money to burn!” I whispered. I then put my black apron away. I rolled it up and kept it at my side. I placed my apron and server book into the basket of my bike outside of the restaurant.

Solitude in the Park
“I wonder how busy the park is,” I mumbled to myself as I drove aimlessly on my day off from work. Cruising by, I curiously checked the parking lot for other souls. Remarkably, I was the only one. Even on a gorgeous day such as this! In a bittersweet moment, I pondered if I preferred a bystander’s company. Or should I savor the moment of solitude?
