The story of musically gifted Sujoy
Sujoy ,Born and raised in New York, has a love for music that dates back to before he could remember. As recounted by his Father, Sujoy as an infant would not be able to sleep unless taken in the car and driven around, music playing, until the sounds would lull him to sleep at night. He began to teach himself how to play guitar, so that he could accompany himself while he sang. Learning to play guitar and sing provided Sujoy with an outlet of expression that he had not known before. Today, Sujoy's love for music is driven by music’s ability to act as an extension of himself which he can share with the world. He creates music in hopes of changing people's lives and everyday moments. He draws inspiration from all things around him, learning from his past mistakes, triumphs, relationships and confrontations.

Nigeria Mouzon known as Yung Goddess — ”The Come Up”
Tell us about you: My artist name is Yung Goddess. I was born and raised in Laurinburg NC, but I currently reside and represent Greensboro NC. My passion for music started when I was only 10 years old singing at church with my grandmother and godmother. I was so scared when it came to grabbing the mic and singing I always felt like I would explode. I realized my talent in singing when I won my first talent show. I was 11 years old at the time and was just doing it for fun but looking out at the crowd seeing all my friends cheer me on gave me a love like never before. I didn’t discover that I could actually rap until the age of 12. I used to sit in the kitchen with my uncle and father and I would listen to them rap all day long. Until one day my uncle asked me to rap a verse he had written for me. I still remember the verse till this day not many artist can say that. What makes me different as an artist is my creativity and authenticity, I never try to follow the trends or what’s popping I always create my own lane which illuminates me in such a raw light. In 5 years I see myself being one of the greatest of all time, just like one of my idol’s Missy Elliot. My number one goal in life is to change the perspective of what women mean to hip hop. If I could further describe what I mean majority of the time we are often looked at as a sex symbol which is why I adore Missy Elliot so much she showed that we are more than our bodies we are also hip hop. As Yung Goddess I bring motivation to all women but especially big women that we do not have to change who we are to be a star and be loved by many. Another superwoman I would like to shed light on is Lizzo. I feel like she is overlooked a lot but to me she is so influential her strength, her courage and her confidence I definitely Stan for. If I’m being honest she is one of the reasons I’m comfortable in my own skin. I’m often compared to her because of how much I know my worth and I’m comfortable in my own skin. The way that I love myself I feel it draws my fans to love me as well. Not only for my talent and my realness but the way I carry myself and I love myself. I don’t ever wanna change the way I look to fit in with society that is what makes me a Goddess I’m different and I own it when I walk in. I would mostly like to be remembered as the first female rapper to break the chains of a generational curse brought upon women by the industry that we are only sex symbols we are more, we are the voice, we are hip hop. Oftentimes people think being a rapper is all about being flashy even if it means everything is fake. They become blinded by the term “Fake it till you make it” when really most people are just looking for real, raw and authentic talent. Which is why I believe I’m a superstar because I have what it take to last in this industry. So what I want people to remember by is for my raw talent that captures the soul and blinds the eye because I take my listeners to another place.

Meet music artist Taylor Rae
What’s your artist name and where are you from? Taylor Rae. I’m from Cincinnati, OH. Why do you love music? Music brought me and my oldest sisters closer together. They would play the latest songs for me and explain to me why it was such a good song. We’d analyze lyrics and everything. I love how one song can be interpreted in multiple ways. I love how you can create a whole mood through a song. It really is like magic.

Getting To Know CityBaby MJay
Tell us about you: I go by CityBaby MJay, from the famous streets of Harlem, NYC. Growing up in Harlem is tough even for the typical kid that goes to school, it may get a little stressful from day to day, but it introduced me to what I love today, and that’s music. Harlem as a whole is culturally versatile and much different from any other area you'll come across in the states. But most importantly, that's why I was exposed to so many kinds of different musical art as a kid growing up, just being around helped me understand different cultures as a whole. My love for music started when I was just a baby. In the morning my parents would turn on the radio to HOT 97 before I went to elementary school and I would hear Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne. I was so fascinated and charmed at a very young age by the way these legends recorded such great music over a microphone in a beautiful fashion. I experienced extreme feelings of joy & happiness whenever I heard a great song and then learned the lyrics so I could myself sing along. Later on in life, it eventually lead up to me trying music for myself when I got older & continuing to pursue it as a dream. What separates me from every other artist is not only my voice but my approach to the tracks that I release. Typically my music always contains a mix of components whether it’s melodic vocals, trap, cool 808s/Snares, etc. Which drives some people toward my craft as a whole. Besides that, my voice naturally is just so much different than other artists who sing and rap like myself. In 5 years, I see myself at a much bigger height of life as a whole, with music, healthiness, and with stability. I want everyone who I love and care for to be doing great for themselves and their people. But primarily for myself, I want to be mentally stable for the things that I know are to come in this music business. I see myself established in the music industry as an artist & owning my record label. As well as having some Gold or Platinum records under my belt to show for my hard work in the studio. Generally, in life, I want to achieve financial stability. Not only for myself, but my loved ones, and future generations to come after me. I also want to make sure I give back to my community because I know how rough it could get growing up where I grew up and everyone needs to start spreading positivity. In the music world, I want to do a lot but most importantly, I simply want to bring a new flavor, new sound, and a new era to everyone. Nowadays a lot of artists are sounding very similar to other artists, and it makes the music game boring if everyone hears the same things over and over again. The first time I dropped a song (”Plastic”) the first thing people told me was “You don't sound like any rappers I listen to” Which leaves me with the mission of bringing something new. When CityBaby MJay leaves this world, I want everyone to know that he most importantly kept God first in all his battles through life but, I also want people to know that outside of money and fame, he still stood firmly with morals & principles that come with being a decent human being all around, although at times he was deeply challenged, even at the age of just 16.
