"In three pages or less..." "In one page or less...." "In one sentence or less..." It's amazing how many things in our lives are expected to be condensed into these short little pieces. How are we supposed to take years, months or decades of experience and distill it down to a bare minimum?

Childlike In Nature
I was out walking on a path that ran by a river last week, not far from my house. It was in the 60s, warm enough to be outside, and I'd already done my weekend chores. So I decided to walk, returning to a path that I'd walked many times in my search for solitude and fresh air while also getting some exercise.

Valentine's Day is tomorrow. The holiday dedicated to love. Or commercialism, if you're being realistic about it. Chocolates, balloons, flowers marked up to make more money. All of these things have become a part of this holiday on a cold February where, more than likely, the weather isn't conducive to going out unless you're wearing five layers of clothes.

The Costume Shop
I was one of those lucky enough to have scored enough on my ACT to earn scholarships covering the whole of my undergraduate education. I also lived at home, so money wasn't really something that concerned me. If I went out with friends off campus, my parents would cover me (and I was very conservative with my spending). So the thought of getting a job wasn't on my mind at all.
