Episode 3: My Kind of Leader
A Spiritual and Philosophical Op-Ed Series This episode is in honor of a spiritual leader who is a Christian church leader who also stands up for the ideas of "Love thy neighbor." - with a period at the end of that sentence (metaphorically, as I believe the rest of the statement does continue a little longer, but the sentiment needs only those three words to be fully expressed).

An Uprising Begins
Elden's favorite part of the Desivion rite of passage ritual was when they tossed the shell into the Well with their prayers for the return of the Gods of the Desivian Sea's love for each other and then the participants all formed a circle and held hands and sang their prayers. The families of those receiving their Desivion Ceremony also formed a circle, behind theirs, and joined in the songs – teaching them, really, as they had not been taught outside of the home since before he could remember.

22 Day Kundalini Challenge
Entering into the 22 Day Kundalini Challenge by KC Volard was a simple decision for me – which those of you who know me will not take lightly (I can be exceptionally indecisive). Educational experiences, of course, have always thrilled me, but I have rarely been one for in-depth physical exploits (I have only begun to love hiking in nature in recent years). This particular 22 day process is definitely a challenge, mainly due to my busy schedule.

Episode 2: Healing the Breach
A Spiritual and Philosophical Op-Ed Series So often I think the Commandment about not worshiping other idols is taken the wrong way. While in Christianity it is clearly taught that other belief systems with multiple deities are wrong, I don't really believe that God has an issue with anyone praising the beauty of the rain or feeling grateful for a good harvest. Really the issue is in focusing more on the gain of further material goods, rather than appreciating the blessings already in our lives.

Episode 1: Guilt, God, and The Apple Aftermath
A Spiritual and Philosophical Op-Ed Series Let's start with a (somewhat) funny anecdote! In church, the priest tells us that missing church on The Sabbath is a mortal sin. The worst kind of sin. The type that, akin to taking a life, will certainly send your soul to Hell rather than Heaven. However, he also said, that when you don't know this information, it is NOT a mortal sin. So my mother responded, “Then why do you keep telling us?!”

Freckles Abroad
Okay, so not really “can be” but more “was” - as in, I took my week-long trip to Scotland by myself. What a gorgeous country! Scotland and Wales are part of the United Kingdom, so are they considered “countries” or “states”? Either way, it was incredibly lovely.
