Being a graduate student for the third time in my life, I’ve heard my fair share of study tips and tricks. Amongst them include teaching the material to others and studying while drinking something that can be drunken in the test hall (what a shame that isn’t beer or wine).

It Ended with Merlot Sandra looked in the gilt framed mirror in her cozy glam industrial condo one last time. The little white dress clung to her slender frame, accentuating the curves of her hourglass figure, and ending with a flare. The low back allowed a glimpse of her shoulder blades, but she would cover that with a blue jean jacket waiting at the door with her purse and brown heels. She put on some red lipstick, wondering if the color scheme would clash with this mystery date.

Targeted Ads
Dear Social Media, You Think You Know Me…. Facebook. Instagram. Google. Twitter. TikTok, and more. It seems I can’t get away from targeted ads. It all depends on what I’ve clicked on. That handy little ellipses at the upper right corner I’ve used more than once to remove all the ads of a certain type. I’ve had targeted ads come in stretches of content: dating, financial, food and vitamins, subscription boxes, environmentally friendly items, clothing, diabetic items, and real estate and furniture. Of course, they all eventually cycle out. I’ve highlighted some of the financial ones I’ve liked.

St. Pat's Playlist
St. Patrick’s day is quickly approaching. With COVID our celebrations are looking very different. For me pre-COVID was usually wearing green at a friend’s house having good conversations about real estate, investing, and social issues like women’s equality and universal healthcare while consuming Guinness, Jameson Whiskey, and all green colored candies, cookies, and vegetables. Now that it’s the 2nd St. Patrick’s day since COVID hit the world hard, I’ll be wearing green to work (not that we pinch each other – hello, sexual harassment claims), and then maybe making myself up something green for a Zoom call or getting take out fish and chips.

Biscuit? Cookie? Cracker? It’s a treat!
Much like cookies, biscuits can be classified in many ways. While cookies are characterized by their flavors – vanilla, sugar, chocolate chip, M&M, and so on; biscuits are either thins, tea biscuits, and breakfast biscuits, to name a few. Here’s a good number of biscuits for those who find cookies too sweet and crackers too salty, or just might be looking for a delicious alternative to some of the heavier carb dessert, snack, and breakfast options out there.

Organizing, Anytime, All the Time
With the dreaded spring forward fast approaching and the weather getting steadily warmer, cleaning may or may not be on the brain. I know with COVID many of us have had an opportunity to basically do a deep dive into re-organizing and downsizing so hey, maybe it’s good to take a break for a year. Some of us have decided to live more consciously as we’ve evaluated our belongings. That unfortunate saying – “what you own owns you” comes to mind.

Biscuit? Cookie? Cracker? It’s a treat!
If you’ve read part 1 of my cookie reviews, you’ll know that I enjoy a few things – nuts, chocolate, tea, coffee, and the crunch of it all. On the same coin, I’m not a fan of caramel, mint, soft, or an inappropriate cookie to chocolate/nut chunk ratio. Being biracially not only culturally but in my lifestyle means that I’ve been exposed to a number of different things from different areas.

The world is full of delicious, irresistible goodies. Being a type 1 diabetic diagnosed before a good majority of today’s fantastic gadgets and medications, I’m careful about how often/how much/HOW I enjoy them. And yes, I can have them, and so can you (portion control, medication, and planning is key!).

A Criminal Element
If you’re like me, then you have a hard time getting into those trendy binge watch shows like The Office, Game of Thrones, or Stranger Things while they’re trendy. Naturally, there’s a lot more shows than these that are trendy, but that’s what comes to mind. I only watch shows that I’ve already had a long running loyalty to (Supernatural), re-watch for background noise, or are somewhat compelling. I find a lot of the detective, action, and crime shows interesting. I don’t mean the horror porn that some find appealing, but prison documentaries or law and order type shows.

Annals of diabetes
As a pharmacologist working in tissue engineering with an interest in pharmacokinetics and business, I recognize that that entire line was a mouthful. I am also a type 1 diabetic, which allows me the enjoyment of knowing a good number of things in varying depths. In most situations this is usually not helpful information.
