And, the Carnage Continues
Could it be that the times of today are masked by the Devil's hand? One has to wonder considering the carnage that played out in Las Vegas. The perpetrators of calamity continue to carry out their heinous acts of unspeakable terror. Each violent act is proceeded by yet another more devastating slaughter of innocent lives. We have to remember that it was just about a year ago that another willful act of senseless murder eclipsed yet another murderous atrocity that was carried out before. It is as though every year there is yet another more tragic senseless loss of life by someone that is willfully aware of what they do. It doesn't help that the United States has by far the largest collection of deadly weapons of any other nation that are in the hands of their citizens either.

National Economic Reforms: Department of Economic Development
Not since FDR has the United States been faced with the enormity of rebuilding America's economy and infrastructure. Today, our economy and our infrastructure is putting this nation's security and stability in grave danger. Our economy today is already on the verge of falling into the abyss by factors very reminiscent of the events that led to the Great Depression of the 1930s. There is also another housing bubble like the one we just had in 2008 that is poised to burst. But, you wouldn't know it, the way Trump is citing his most illustrious accomplishments and the media with their bogus reporting of the unemployment numbers. What we are faced with today is that the United States is still woefully unprepared to handle any financial calamity. We have too many on capital hill continue to be oblivious to the calamity of either an infrastructure disaster or the continued economic woes that are keeping millions of American's languishing in financial devastation would do to this nation.

The Mounting Tempest
Hindsight is relative in proportion to events that have already occurred. That being said, with the transgressions that the Trump administration has done, many now wonder would the electoral college have voted for the one candidate who had the majority of Americans in his corner if they knew how the Trump Presidency is turning out to be? A historical turn of events would have taken place. It is so sad that today we use the word hindsight in terms relating to what has been going on ever since Trump took office.

The Greatest Challenge
Are we being led like sheep to the slaughter by leaders after quenching their thirst off of the tears of the masses? Is mankind going to dissolve into obscurity where all that is left is woe and misery? Has the US lost its moral compass? Very sobering thoughts considering the events of our modern day world that has played out before all to see. As undaunting the task before humanity is, the resolve has to be united. Not fractured as we are witnessing here in the United States and throughout the world. The future for all mankind rests with the decisions that are made today. But, sadly there continues to be those who hide behind cloaks of deception and deceit. Then we have a President who is incapable of uttering decisive remarks and decisions that would heal the wounds of an already divided country. Our leaders are the ones that control the events that shape the world. History is ripe with those whose cloaks have masked their misshaped ideologies. For those who seek of gaining more power, control and wealth they do so at the expense of the future, the environment, and the existence of all life.

The Silence of Patton
Many times we are taught there are absolutes. What we read and are taught there are certain facts that shouldn't be called into question. In mathematics, for instance, 1+1=2 is a fact that should not be questioned. Many times we are taught, especially in history, there are underlying circumstances where certain facts come into light years and even decades afterward that dispute what we originally thought was true and factual. Some believe in conspiracy theories backed up by unsubstantiated incidents and non-verifiable information. Then there are other times what we think are just conspiracy theories; later on, verifiable information comes to light that suggests that maybe it wasn't a conspiracy after all but certain events really did happen.

The Conflicts Waged In the Name of War
History is an invaluable tool. For it tells us of the mistakes made in the past so as to not repeat those same mistakes. Yet, our leaders have continually failed to head the lessons that history is supposed to teach us. The present Administration is again repeating history. We have to remember that the last time the United States declared war was in 1941. The conflicts waged in the name of war from Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq were never sanctioned by the Congress. These conflicts disguised as wars were designed as tools to increase the profitability of the Military Industrial Complex, certain politicians, and major corporations.

The Man Who Never Returned
Into the darkest untamed jungles of Amazon went Percy Fawcett, the man who never returned. The Enigma of Col. Percy Fawcett has fascinated the media and explorers ever since he vanished in the Amazon rain forest some 90 years ago. He was considered the greatest explorer of his day. Like Amelia Earhart a decade later, both leave a lasting legacy of mystery surrounding their disappearances. To first find out what motivated Percy Fawcett to undertake such perilous journeys only to vanish without a trace is to closely identify with the man himself.

Camelot
At a time when the world is in chaos, where the hopes and dreams can never be realized, we would be wise to remember that there was a place in time where goodness and virtue prevailed. Camelot, the name synonymous with peace and tranquility. That was the time and place where troubled waters were replaced by the calm seas of compassion and benevolence. Camelot, the place where its leaders under God exemplified a common demure of compassion and humility while fostering goodwill toward all.

What A Night
In researching the recess of my memory it was in the spring of '83 that I experienced what The Four Seasons sang about in their hit "Oh! What A Night" When in the opening lyrics of that hit instead of back in December of '63, Oh! What a night for me was that night back in '83. That night especially was a very special time for me. And, as the lyrics go as I remember what a night it was for me. I didn't even know her name when she waltzed up to the bar at the Gold Room. I knew then things were never going to be the same. What a lady and what a night it turned out to be.

Truman's Blunder and the World Today
In all of recorded history of the United States one instance stands out that still to this day has complicated international relations almost to the point of igniting another World War. Lessons learned in today's history books too many times omit the whole story behind actual events that have occurred. It is this Memorial Day that we remember the sacrifices that our military makes to keep our freedom alive. In that light there is no better time to bring to the world's attention that some 66 years ago President Truman made one of the most historical mistakes that continues to cause reverberations through-out the world.
