Prison Tales: The Murder of Larry Mark
In a prison known for housing some of the state’s most violent criminals, inmate Michael Hernandez brutally attacked his cellmate, Larry Mark, strangling the man, gouging out his eyes, and then mutilating the body. He then wore the victim’s ear to the chow hall on a necklace made from a string. Already serving life in prison, this murder earned Hernandez an additional life sentence.

Halloween, October 31st each year, is known as the spookiest day of the year. Kids and adults alike dress in their favorite scary and cute costumes, trick-or-treat, attend fun parties, and excitedly scare the bejesus out of as many people as possible. Many people make a night of watching horror movies and some visit haunted houses for the real thrill of the night. And some commit murder. These stories fall into the latter category, describing horrific events that have taken place on Halloween.

Woman Intentionally Runs Over Son With Car
On December 11, 2018, 36-year-old single mom Tiffany Kosakowski dropped her son, Julian, off at his elementary school in Belmont, Michigan. The 9-year-old, having a bad day, ran out of the school behind Kosakowski. She ignored the boy as he walked beside the car in the school’s parking lot. Kosakowski then backed her car up and demanded her son to return to the school.

The Halloween Murder of T.J. Darrisaw
T.J. Darrisaw attended a Halloween block party with his family in their Sumter, South Carolina community in 2008. The festivities included face painting, candy, and lots of entertainment. After leaving the block party, T.J. and his brother weren’t quite ready to call it a night and asked if they could stop at a few more houses to trick-or-treat. Of course, the parents agreed: it was Halloween and everyone loves this spooky day of the year.

The Murder of Brandon Teena
Brandon Teena was a transgender individual attacked and murdered in 1993 by two people after learning of his biological sex. The two raped Teena and one week later, shot and killed him upon learning that he reported the rape to local police. The case is one of the most notorious trans-hate crimes in U.S. history.

Husband Hires Man to Ra.pe His Wife . Content Warning.
In 2016, a man hired a ‘homeless drug addict’ to rape his wife for $200. In March, officers responded to a call reporting an accident at the home of Russell Higgins, 48, and his wife. The Tehachapi residence became the scene of a horrific crime when the unnamed wife came home to a darkened bedroom. She saw her husband standing in the shadows by a “younger Black man.”
