Woman Murders One Child, Leaves Three Alone in Home While She & Boyfriend Live Their Best Lives

The kids lived alone in an apartment for one year

Gloria Williams and Brian Coulter have been charged in connection with the murder of 8-year-old Kendrick Lee. Lee’s remains were found wrapped in a blanket inside a closet in an apartment where Williams’s three children lived with their brother’s decomposing remains for nearly one year.

The oldest child texted his mother, telling her that he could not “take it anymore.” The teen then called the police and told them his dead brother was in the room beside him.

Police Find Children, Boy’s Remains

Police found the three children, ages 15, 10, and 7, upon arrival at the home. All three children showed signs of physical injury and were malnourished. Police said the children suffered from disabilities and at least two of the children suffered from autism.

The children each had different fathers. None of the fathers were in the children’s lives. At least one of the children’s fathers is deceased.

The decomposing remains of the young boy were also found stuffed inside the closet but still visible to anyone who entered the bedroom.

Fend for Yourselves

The three children lived alone in the apartment with the dead body after the murder when Williams and Coulter moved out, telling them to “fend for themselves.”

Coulter allegedly beat and stomped Lee to death.

Williams and Coulter moved into a home about 15-minutes down the road.

Rarely did Williams visit the children, only bringing food to them on occasion. That did not stop her and Coulter from living their best lives together.

Neighbors Fed Children; Didn’t Notify Authorities

Neighbors noticed one of the children sleeping on the slide. They often gave the child food but did not realize that other kids were in the home or that the kids were alone in such dire conditions. None of the neighbors considered notifying authorities.

"I didn't want to push him away by asking questions because I knew he was starving and needed food," one of the neighbors told a news station.

On Valentine’s Day, Williams posted pictures of jewelry Coulter purchased for her to her Instagram account and he posted photos of the gifts that she had purchased for him.

Williams wrote in the caption:

"My husband bought this for me for valentines day i love him very much everything is real." Coulter also posted a video, saying amongst other things, "Gentleman, treat your ladies right if they deserve it," he said in the video.

Death Determined to be a Homicide

Lee’s remains were transported to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Officer where the state medical examiner discovered multiple blunt force injuries to the children. The office determined that his death was a homicide.

Coulter and Williams were taken into custody. She was charged with injury to a child by criminal omission and tampering with evidence for hiding the body. Both remain in custody on bonds of $1 million each. Both Williams and Coulter await trial.

The judge ordered both Williams and Coulter to stay away from children as well.

My Thoughts

So so sad. I always wonder what possibly goes through people’s minds when they commit such atrocious crimes to their own kids. Do they think they’ll get away with something like this? My thoughts with the surviving children. I hope they can fully recover from this trauma. As for this mOtHeR and her boyfriend, I hope they rot in prison.
