CFL Week 16 Recap: Kings of the Jungle
Detroit's Lions aren't the only ones making an impact. Week 16 featured a pair of clinching scenarios, with one of them involving the British Columbia Lions. They had the simplest of scenarios: win and in. Even better for BC, they were facing the Edmonton Elks on the road, which seems quite easy. After all, the Elks had severe problems winning at home, even though they did end their long home victory drought this season. The Elks didn't make it easy on their West Division foes, it was pretty close throughout, but in the end, the Leos emerged victorious. 37-29 was the final score.

Phillies Look to Defend Their Pennant
Red October is back for another go-around! The Philadelphia Phillies entered their meeting with the Pittsburgh Pirates needing just one win to clinch their second straight postseason appearance. They would need extras in this game, but it was a quick finish for the Phils. A walk-off RBI single giving them a 3-2 win, as well as another trip to the postseason. The Phillies' mission, now that they will be playing October baseball, is a simple one: win two more games than they did last season.

At Long Last, Brewers Clinch NL Central
I thought they'd never clinch that division! The Milwaukee Brewers' magic number had been at 2 or lower for the entire past weekend. It was down to one because the Cubs lost, but despite having two opportunities to lock up the National League Central with a win, they lost both times. The Brewers and Cubs returned to play on Tuesday, September 27, 2023, and regarding the former, they were at home against the lowly St. Louis Cardinals. As for the Cubs, they were on the road against the dangerous Atlanta Braves.

0-3: The Kiss of Death
One of the many things I love about the NFL season is that it's a sprint. Also, because it's a sprint, this brings me to another of the things I love about football: every game matters. Football is the only sport where what a team does in the first game could either help or hurt big time by the final game. It is always important to get off to a good start, but even if a team drops the first game, it is not the end of the world. But they have to make up for it fast, because not doing so could be costly. 0-1 is not a big deal. 0-2 is surmountable, but it could take some doing.

MLB Pennant Race 2023: Seven Days Left, and a Lot to Decide
Well, this is it. Down to the wire. The 2023 MLB season has just one week, seven short days, remaining. That is not a lot of time. Despite this, there is so much to be determined. So many teams are vying for a chance to participate in this year's Postseason. Unfortunately, there is one team that we all know will not be part of this postseason party, and that team is the New York Yankees.

Cold-Blooded
"Hello, I am police captain Sabrina Masters. As you know, this case is personal to me, but I have spent 19 years dealing with gripping cases like this, and I see no difference here. The victim is my husband, Richard Masters, who was found dead in the bedroom. The last person to see him alive was this woman, Joyce Randall, who suddenly disappeared without a trace. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Ms. Randall, please contact us."

The Murder of Heidi Broussard
On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Lifetime aired another one of their true crime films, and I'm glad I watched this, because this was a story I had never heard about until this movie aired. The film, Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard, centered on the titular crime, which occurred on 2019. The culprit was someone who was very close to Heidi: Magen Fieramusca, her longtime best friend.

Twins Lock Up 1st Place in a Weak AL Central
The American League Central has been...interesting this season. In an earlier story I wrote about the division, there were no teams at .500 at that very time. It seemed like we would see an 81-81 or worse record actually finish first in the division, but that wouldn't be the case, as the wins picked up for the division's top teams. In all of the mess, I figured that the Cleveland Guardians would repeat as division champions because of their fantastic 2022 campaign. Not only did the Guardians win the division, they completely shut down the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card Series, and went the maximum five games with a powerful New York Yankees team.

CFL Week 15 Recap: A Puncher's Chance
You know the old saying: time flies when you're enjoying a version of football that has all sorts of amazing perks. The home stretch of the season, the final seven weeks, the last one-third, has arrived, and for one team, everything could be settled and determined in just one fell swoop. The Toronto Argonauts locked in a playoff spot a week prior, and regarding Week 15, they were one win away from locking up first place in the East Division. All they had to do was defeat the Montréal Alouettes yet again, but it looked a bit iffy for the Boatmen.

Becky Lynch's Road to the Grand Slam
In every wrestling promotion, the Grand Slam Championship honor is one of the most prestigious honors ever, because it involves winning every relevant championship in existence. Out of all of the promotions, World Wrestling Entertainment is the only one that has Grand Slam Championships for the men and the women, and regarding the latter, the Women's Grand Slam (established in 2019) consists of the Raw Women's Championship (now known as the Women's World Championship), the SmackDown Women's Championship (now known as the WWE Women's Championship), the NXT Women's Championship, and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

NFL Week 2 Recap: Plan B
What now? Those two words had to have been repeated on a loop by fans of the New York Jets after Monday's season opener. The Jets, their fans, and every football fan (myself included and especially)--all of us were eagerly wondering how the Jets would fare with Aaron Rodgers as their QB. After months of anticipation, Rodgers made his Jets debut on the Monday Night Football opener, had four plays...and then the injury happened. That was a shocking blow to the Jets and their fans, as Rodgers ended up in the tent and later carted off. Out for the rest of the game. The Jets had to persevere with Zach Wilson at QB, and for that night, they did--winning in comeback fashion in overtime over the Buffalo Bills.
