Reviewing a Pair of Sinister Villainesses from "One Night Stand Murder"
I had been looking forward to this film, One Night Stand Murder, for a few weeks since I learned about this movie being on Lifetime's list of September flicks. So after watching an intriguing Sunday Night Football matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots, I tuned in to this film, which started with the central protagonist, Alyssa Morgan, suddenly waking up next to a corpse, and with no memory of how she got there.

MLB Pennant Race 2023: The Junior Circuit's 1st Spots are Clinched
I can't believe it. I truly can't believe it. With Sunday's matchups done, the 2023 MLB season has just two weeks left. It shows that even a season as long and grueling as baseball can fly by at the drop of a hat; it seemed like yesterday that the season started. This week saw the Braves and Dodgers lock in their divisions, but it also saw two more teams join the postseason party.

Dodgers Capture NL West, but What's Next?
The Los Angeles Dodgers entered their Saturday game against the Seattle Mariners with two ways to clinch the National League West. One way was a win and one San Francisco Giants loss (the Giants were playing a doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies). A second route had the Giants losing both games of the doubleheader, and the Arizona Diamondbacks losing to the Chicago Cubs. The Giants did lose Game One of their doubleheader, meaning that all the Dodgers needed was a win. This was followed by the Giants losing the second game as well, while Arizona's game was back and forth and needed extra innings.

Reviewing Queen Latifah's Brief Heel Turn in "The Equalizer"
I love The Equalizer with a passion. Haven't seen the original series, but I've seen the Denzel Washington movies--I know his third one is out now, and I've been watching Queen Latifah's version since Day One, which came after CBS' telecast of Super Bowl LV. Since then, it's been a habitual occurrence every Sunday--I never miss an episode. I am anxiously awaiting for Season Four, I know a fourth season is coming, but I do not know what impact the ongoing strike will have on the fourth season. With all of that said, Season Three definitely had its moments, with the best one airing just one day after my (and series star Queen Latifah's) birthday.

NFL Week 1 Recap: A New York Minute. Top Story - September 2023.
The NFL is back, and this fan was ever so eager for the season to start. My reasons were simple. One, I had a good feeling about Fantasy Football this year, and two, I'm a Yankees fan who wants to forget about this disaster of a season. With every new NFL season comes new storylines and new questions, and one of the biggest new storylines of the debuting 2023 NFL season had to be Aaron Rodgers making his New York Jets debut on Monday Night Football.

John Ritter: Iconic Legend
20 years ago today, the world became a lot less bright. It was on September 11, 2003 that John Ritter passed away, and I remember how stunned I was when I heard the news that morning. I've been watching John Ritter since I was six years old, and yes, it was Three's Company. Like clockwork, when it was 6:00, I tuned into Three's Company, which had been in reruns by the time I entered this world.

Braves 1st to Clinch 2023 Postseason Spot
One thing that always fascinates me is the fact that Major League Baseball refers to their playoffs as the "Postseason." The other three main leagues use "playoffs," but baseball promotes the "Postseason." They are both one in the same, but still, I just love how baseball uses "Postseason," because it is a season--a brief season that takes place after the regular season ends. The length varies depending on the format and the league, though in the case of baseball, the Postseason lasts just over a month. For the second straight year, 12 teams are part of this entertaining madness, and on September 10, 2023, the first of the 12 teams locked in a spot in this year's Postseason.

CFL Week 14 Recap: Win and In
The CFL is coming off a wild Labour Day Weekend of games, and it looked like Week 14 was set to duplicate the excitement we received a week prior. Similar to the previous week, there were clinching scenarios, but this time, two teams can get into this year's playoffs. One of the two teams: none other than the defending Grey Cup Champions, the Toronto Argonauts. The scenario was simple, win and in. That's it. It's always nice to have that scenario, isn't it?

Labor Day Weekend @ Cobra Kai
After so many years, I finally...finally watched Cobra Kai! But before I could watch a show I've been wanting to get into for a long while, I had to finally watch the actual films. It took a while, but I did just that, watching Parts I, II, and III of The Karate Kid, and even watching The Next Karate Kid in case there's a connection there.

CFL Week 13 Recap: A Labour Day Weekend to Remember
I do enjoy the Labour Day Weekend games in the Canadian Football League, but this one was extra special, because both Labour Day Monday games actually aired on American television, on the CBS Sports Network. Before Week 13 kicked off on Saturday, the CFL announced its first clinching scenario: the Winnipeg Blue Bombers could get in with a win. Simple as that. Of course, this was the weekend of the rivalry matchups, and in the case of the Blue Bombers, they faced off against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina on Sunday.

MLB Pennant Race 2023: Spoiler Alert
It's September, folks! The final month of the 2023 MLB season, that home stretch that comes before the postseason field is completed. Now, before I continue, I have to say this. I pride myself on punctuality when it comes to these stories, but circumstances can prevent such a thing from happening. In my case, I've been under the weather for the last few days, and during that time, my only obsession was relaxing and doing as little as possible. This is my third year posting such stories on Vocal, and I usually write these on Sunday nights, but the spirit wasn't quite willing just yet. However, on this Labor Day morning, I am close to feeling completely better, and I'm here with this weekly report of the pennant races.
