Right Where We Wanted Them
So this was definitely a game to remember! The Colorado Avalanche had a great New Year's Eve, winning big over the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets. It's a New Year now, but the Avalanche still have that same groove, as we entered our game against the Buffalo Sabres. This was the second and last meeting of the season, and we all remember how the first game ended. The Avs trailed 4-0, but went on to win 5-4 in regulation in Buffalo, which was part of the Sabres' 13-game losing streak.

New Year's Revolution (Week 18)
We made it, folks! A New Year is here, and in a few days, we say goodbye to the 2024 NFL season. I'm not gonna lie; I was afraid that there would be nothing to talk about in this final week. It looked like we were on our way to the most boring final week since 2017. Remember that season? Week 18 took place on New Year's Eve, and there were so few relevant storylines that the week did not even have a season ending Sunday Night game. Thankfully, certain circumstances gave us something for the final week of the this season.

My Suggested New Year's Resolutions for All 32 NHL Teams
Happy New Year, everyone, and especially to my fellow puckheads out there! This has been a hell of a season so far. We've seen some amazing moments from the 32 teams, we've seen some history, some milestones, but sadly, we had some tragedy entering the season. Now, we are in a new calendar year, and January is an important month, as it's normally the last full month before All-Star Break, though this year, the NHL is doing the Four Nations event.

Ending the Year on a Roll
It's fitting that the Colorado Avalanche's last game of the 2024 calendar year was against the Winnipeg Jets. The Avs entered that year having problems with Winnipeg, yet the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs saw us totally dismantle them. However, Connor Hellebuyck got his pound of flesh in the first meeting of the season, a 1-0 shutout win in Winnipeg. On New Year's Eve, it was Round Two, and it was in Denver this time. We had the added bonus of Jonathan Drouin returning to the lineup as well.

Top 10 Lifetime Villainesses of 2024 (Part 2: The Top 5)
Unlike last year, where I pretty much had my top five pegged for months, this year was just a tad difficult. I really had to do some decision making and give it some deep thought, but I am satisfied with the second half of this year-end top 10 list. These five villainesses really showed out the most in 2024, and for a look at Part 1 of this list, click here.

Top 10 Lifetime Villainesses of 2024 (Part 1: #10 - #6)
2024 is coming to a close, and this year was quite interesting in the world of Lifetime film villainesses. Hard to believe that this is my fourth year doing this; I first got to work on this list back in 2021, when I was just getting my feet wet on Vocal. Lifetime villainesses are absolutely delicious; a fact I've known for many years, and they just keep getting more and more amazing as time goes by and the Lifetime movies continue to evolve and develop. It was a hell of a job picking ten villainesses who really stood out this year, but after careful thought, here is the first half of this list for 2024:

NFL Week 17 Recap: Adapt or Perish
As a result of the first six games of Week 17 airing on some form of national TV, 10 games were played on Sunday and Monday. Nine of them were on Sunday, and only eight aired in regional coverage--and one of those eight was nationally televised. This resulted in a very light load on the final Sunday of 2024, but even a light load helped provide a lot in this year's playoff picture.

Lehk Amok
The Colorado Avalanche's last game before the holiday break was a big home victory against the Seattle Kraken, which was centered by Joel Kiviranta's Hat Trick. The Avs returned to action with two games left in the calendar year, and the first of those two games was a meeting with the Utah Hockey Club. This was the third meeting of the season, with the two teams splitting the first two, though the road team is undefeated in this season set.

Before the Ball Drops (NFC Week 17)
The National Football Conference continues to be full of wild and crazy storylines heading into the final countdown to the end of the season. It's been quite a mess for the last three seasons, and I am here for all of it. While the AFC has nearly everything sewn up, the NFC has quite a few things wide open. None of the four divisions are locked up. Yet everything can be settled during Week 17.

NFL Week 17 Christmas Recap: Are You Ready for Some Tudum?!
I've said this before, and I'll say it again: sports telecasts have come a long way. I've seen my share of games on stream sites like ESPN+ and Peacock, but I never thought we would ever see any live sports on Netflix, let alone the NFL. Yet this Christmas, we were treated to a double dose of NFL action, and both games were vital to the AFC playoff picture.

Naughty or Nice? (AFC Week 17)
Last week, the American Football Conference could have seen literally all of their storylines settled. All seven spots clinched, all four divisions clinched, even the #1 seed could have been wrapped up. Thankfully, that did not happen. If it had, we would have seen a lot of games in the final two weeks mean very little to nothing. Instead, we still have just a few things that need to be handled in Week 17, the penultimate week of the season, which starts on Christmas Day and is followed by the final countdown to the New Year. At least one NFL game played for five of the next six days! Let's go!
