My Suggested New Year's Resolutions for All 32 NHL Teams
Some New Year's Resolutions for every team in the NHL for this season

Happy New Year, everyone, and especially to my fellow puckheads out there! This has been a hell of a season so far. We've seen some amazing moments from the 32 teams, we've seen some history, some milestones, but sadly, we had some tragedy entering the season. Now, we are in a new calendar year, and January is an important month, as it's normally the last full month before All-Star Break, though this year, the NHL is doing the Four Nations event.
So with all of that said, here are my suggested New Year's Resolutions for each of the 32 teams. They will be short and sweet, and the tone will definitely vary. I'll group these by division, and I'll do it alphabetically (by city), because ranking them in the current standings order, IMO, would be a bit too obvious.
Atlantic Division

Bruins: Someone other than Pastrnak and Marchand needs to step up. Seriously.
Sabres: Do something! ANYTHING! Anything but go through the motions like you have been for the last decade-plus!
Red Wings: Whatever deals you need to make, make them quick. Remember when you guys were the kings of Detroit and it was the Lions in the doldrums? You guys have swapped places now. Fix it.
Panthers: At least try to prove that last year wasn't a fluke caused by only playing one real team in the playoffs. You're looking mighty sus this year.
Canadiens: Keep getting those shocking wins; heads will turn next year.
Senators: Stay the course and don't make any moves that are too knee-jerk.
Lightning: Tell Kucherov to calm down.
Maple Leafs: You know that winning thing you've been somehow doing without Matthews? Do it with him. You've shown that you can win four playoff games with this group. Now show you can win eight, and see where it takes you.
Metropolitan Division

Hurricanes: Get things right. This is (most likely) your last chance at a Cup with this group.
Blue Jackets: Do it for Johnny.
Devils: Even at this point, you're one big deal away from being a real serious contender. Do it.
Islanders: Seriously, score some goals.
Rangers: Get your team in order!!
Flyers: You have a possible Calder winner on your team. Do not waste his efforts.
Penguins: Get younger. I do love that three-headed core of Crosby, Malkin, and Letang, but beyond that, get some fresh faces on that team.
Capitals: Plain and simple, help Ovechkin get that record.
Central Division

Blackhawks: If the NHL offers you the Winter Classic again, just say no.
Avalanche: Keep climbing the ladder, and for God's sake, please stay healthy!
Stars: Get some depth. I see a sharp decline.
Wild: Whatever you're doing, keep doing it.
Predators: WTF? Just pray that whatever needs fixing isn't long-term.
Blues: Yes, you scored six in the Winter Classic. Now, keep scoring.
Utah: Make your first year in Salt Lake City a good and memorable one.
Jets: Don't blow it. Don't collapse.
Pacific Division

Ducks: Keep your heads up. From the looks of it, you're about a year or two away from something good.
Flames: Be consistent; no more up-and-down performances.
Oilers: Prepare yourself for another playoff letdown.
Kings: Try to at least finish in second place so if you, again, face the Oilers, you'll have home ice.
Sharks: Enjoy Celebrini and everything that comes with having him on your team. Oh, and keep building around him and Zetterlund.
Kraken: Make the right moves come Deadline day.
Canucks: Get your house in order, please!
Golden Knights: Learn to be humble for once in your existence.
* * *
Those are the resolutions! Will they come true this season? Which team will break them before the season's out? We shall definitely see! Here's to 2025!
