Rust And Roses.
The doors of St Andrew’s always creaked, but that Sunday, they slammed open with a noise too sharp to ignore. A gust blew straight down the aisle, rattling the projector screen and sending hymn sheets skimming like dead leaves across the laminate floor.

Some honest thoughts after listening to Tiken Jah Fakoly’s 'Plus Rien Ne M’étonne'.

BBC’s 'Just Act Normal': A Wound We All Carry.
Disclaimer: Before I begin, a quick note: I'm not someone who watches a lot of TV, and I’m certainly no expert when it comes to reviewing shows. So, if I get the names wrong or miss some details — that's on me. But something about "Just Act Normal" grabbed me, and I can’t shake the things it made me think about. It left me with more questions than answers, and I think that’s worth sharing.

Provision Is Not a Privilege: Why I Refuse to Build With a Broke Man.
For centuries, across cultures, continents, and civilizations, one truth has remained constant: women are wired to be cared for, protected, and provided for. It is neither entitlement nor arrogance; it is nature. It is the very design of balance between the masculine and the feminine.

It was one of those days — a day made for staying tucked inside, keeping company with warm drinks, quiet thoughts, and gentle persistence.

Solo. Fearless. Unstoppable: Meet the Woman Who Rides Across a Continent.
It began with a restless night. I had woken from a troubled dream—the kind that lingers, leaving a hollow ache you can’t quite name. After whispering a prayer into the stillness, I reached for my phone, hoping the familiar scroll of Instagram reels would soothe me back to sleep.

Homeward or Nowhere.
In today’s world, the movement of Black people across continents reveals a striking and profound irony. Many Black individuals who were born and raised in the West—African Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, and second-generation African immigrants—are choosing to move back to Africa. They come in search of identity, purpose, peace, and sometimes, a place they can truly call home. At the same time, millions of Africans are doing the opposite—leaving the continent with hopes of greener pastures in Europe or North America, often only to be met with a different kind of struggle.

In Full Bloom.
Today was one of those days. The kind where even getting out of bed feels like a heroic feat. I lay there, tucked beneath my blanket, the world feeling distant, and my to-do list whispering at me from a corner I refused to face. I’d held my wee for so long it was beginning to feel like a metaphor for all the things I was holding in—discomfort, frustration, pressure, hope. And yet, there was also peace. A strange, stubborn kind of peace in admitting that today, I simply didn’t want to try.
