10 Works Of Literature That Are *Technically* Fan Fiction
Fan fiction--the popularist fiction written by normal people (usually girls and women) and posted online/in a public forum--is frequently deemed trashy. Similar to salacious magazines a teenage boy hides under his bed, fan fiction readers are forced to hide their hobby and penchant for fan fiction. While the internet made the dissemination of fan fiction easier and more accessible, it is not uncommon to hear stories from parents and grandparents about a fan fiction that was passed around high school hallways chapter by chapter.

30 Songs For People Who Want To Get Into K-pop
Korean pop--abbreviated to K-pop--is currently in a global heyday. While it has been popular in Korea, Asia, and Asian diaspora populations, Western countries only started truly paying attention when Gangnam Style by Psy became a phenomenon in 2013. That same year a group comprised of 7 young men debuted at a small company. In about 5 years, this group, BTS, would be the face of the Hallyu wave.

9 Tips For Writing Your College Essays In Half The Time
As an English major, I have written a lot of essays. And, despite what many would believe, it was not always easy for me. Even a paper of only four or five pages could take multiple weeks and several hours to get right. But, after four years, I finally figured out how to write a college essay (of moderate length) within only a few hours.

7 Words Created By Shakespeare
When a language forms, it is generally the effort of an entire population. It's a group of scholars or politicians determining what everything should be called and the phonemes they should use. It happens naturally--and never really stops. Every year new words enter our lexicon and our dictionary. In 2022, the words like "copypasta" and "amirite" officially made it on the pages of our dictionaries.

These Women Are Changing K-Pop
The Fourth Generation of K-pop officially began in 2018. If unfamiliar, K-pop is loosely divided into generations which last technically a decade, but in practice more about every five years. All groups who debuted from sometime in early 2018 are considered Fourth Generation. Technically, the Fourth Generation should come to an end soon--but like I said--these categorizations are a bit nebulous and somewhat determined after the fact.

Men Disappearing From Their Cars: Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier is perhaps the most majestic volcano in Washington State. The mostly white-capped mountain can be viewed from almost every major city on the westside of Washington State. In photos of the Seattle skyline, you will see Mount Rainer in the background looming seemingly just out of reach of the city.

The Most Interesting County Name In Every US State
I'm what you may call a geography nerd. I collected maps my college library was getting rid of, I'd look up counties as we drove through them, and I asked my mom where the county I grew up in got its name when I was like seven (she didn't know but I'm fairly certain its some white manifest destiny guy).

If you're like me, you have a million Spotify playlists for pretty much anything and everything. From working out to extremely specific forms of synesthesia, I have a playlist for almost everything, even if they are not entirely universal. However, almost everyone has that one playlist they put on after a break up or whenever they've had a stressful day at work and just need to cry.

A Timeline of How My Anxiety Symptoms Changed With Age
The first time I remember feeling anxiety I was five years old. I associate it with my first day of kindergarten, but I do not actually know if it was. Still, I remember eating egg salad sandwiches and finding a small black ball of pepper in mine. The strong taste could only be poison on my tiny tongue. Of course, a part of me knew it wasn't, but my life had changed so much lately. There were so many things I could not control: my parent's divorce, my mother's breast cancer diagnosis, and having to move in with my grandparents and declare bankruptcy.

12 Underrated Songs By Well Known Artists
Even the most popular artists make less known songs. Normally, these are B-sides on the album that never get performances, radio play, and which they may not even perform at concerts. The songs may have also been for a specific purpose such as for a movie, video game, or charity project. Still, it is surprising at times to come across these songs and realize they had an amazing song that flew under the radar.
