The Tragedy of Jane
A train hit Janes car. It burst into flames and flew off the track, killing her instantly. Some of her organs went to the hospital and saved lives. Reading Eulogy’s, her friends remembered her as a good person with a golden heart. She left behind three kids and a dog. Her family always talked about how much they missed her. If only they had one more chance to kiss her. Her sister missed her the most. She could no longer host her famous parties. Janes only mistake was texting and driving. She never saw the train coming.

The Night Cat
I was enjoying the view from the sidewalk. It started to drizzle. I started to move, explore the city. I saw a guy getting mugged, nothing I could do. Was I going to meow the mugger away? I don’t think so. The smell of food was irresistible. I meandered to the trash behind the restaurant and dug through there garbage for left overs. I walked to an alleyway and found some other cool cats to keep me safe while I slept. Just as I was about to doze off, my owner found me, picked me up and brought me home.

A Fillet
“You need to allow your son more freedom,” Francis, my therapist, said. “Why? I’m just protecting my son,” I said. “He’s 36 and doesn’t need your protecting. He needs independence. He’s not a damn baby,” Francis shouted. “You just don’t understand a mothers love. He’ll always be a baby to me,” I said and smiled. I approached him and grabbed his pencil. “What are you doing?” He asked. I stabbed him, took him home, chopped him up and cooked him. I invited all my friends over. “Fillet of Francis, anyone?” I offered. Francis just didn’t understand a mothers love.

The Ghost in the Attic of the Mansion who Stared out the Window All Day and Scared People
My name is Earl. I live in the attic of the mansion I died in. Most of the time I would stare out the window. When new buyers would see me, they’d get frightened away. I didn’t mean to scare them. Jesse wasn’t scared. She saw me and bought the house anyway. “I’m Earl,” I said. “Cool, I love ghosts. Let’s be friends,” Jesse said. “I need a friend. Finally, someone I can possess so I can live again. Thank you, kind Jesse,” I said. “Wait, what?” She said. I entered her body before she could speak again. I’m alive!

Tips for Hunting a Friend
“I’m Christina, a profesional friend hunter. I’ll be helping you hunt down friends today,” I said to the tour group. They all smiled excitedly. The first place the bus stopped was Forges Coffee Shop. “Does everyone have tranquilizer guns ready?” I asked. They all nodded their heads. “First tip, stay five feet apart so nobody trips when they rush in. Now go capture friends,” I said and they ran inside and each brought a sleeping, tied up friend back to the bus. “Second tip, make sure they’re tied tightly to your wall or table before they wake up,” I said.

My Day in Court
“They only fired him because he has autism,” I said. I hate discrimination against people with autism, and I vowed to defend all of them. “That’s not true, it took him to long to learn things,” the defense said. “So what, he learned them and he excelled at his job after,” I said. “That doesn’t matter. He’s weird,” the defense said. “He seems normal enough to me. And who cares if he’s weird as long as he does his job,” I said. The judge slammed his gavel and ordered the company to pay twenty five billion dollars to my client.

Creature Feature
I took my date to a drive in movie. It was one of the last around. It was a scary movie about a tree that comes to life and wages war on humanity for our global deforestation. The movie ended and I put my arm around her. We were about to make out when a tree fell on my car. “Dang it, she’s a classic,” I shouted. Then we heard the tree growl, and neither of us moved for the rest of the night. When we did get up for help, the tree rolled over us. The war has started.

Detective McGee
I was working the beat, listening to the street. I found clues, the blues were playing, moving my feet. If I found out who did this, they were dead meat. I tracked down a suspect based on witness descriptions, it was neat. He demanded a lawyer and got a law firm, a whole fleet. “It was a doppelgänger, I swear,” he said without a care. I knew I trapped him in my snare. I interrogated him in the dark using only a flare. “We found your fingerprints,” I said and stared. We put him away, he yelled and blared.

I Trusted a Frog
“Oh, cool, a frog,” I said. “I can talk, you know,” the frog said. “Oh, cool. A talking frog,” I said. “You mean you’re not scared? Why?” The frog asked. “I watch fairy tail movies. If I kiss you, will you turn into a prince?” I asked. “Close. A wealthy businessman,” the frog said. I picked up the frog and gave him a smooch. I felt myself shrinking. “What just happened?” I asked. “Oops! The magic turned you into a frog, instead,” the frog said, laughing. “You tricked me, frog,” I screamed. “My name is Fred,” the frog said smugly.

Nightmare City
It all started with the collapse of the government. People stopped paying taxes. Police stopped getting paid and quit working. Laws became unenforceable. People started rioting and looting. Eventually the supplies ran out, and things calmed down when barter started. People were forced to respect each other despite no laws, or starve and die, because nobody bartered with the disrespectful. Payment for food was a simple thanks. The city was still in decay, and an old nuclear power plant leaked small amounts of radiation into our city. Our bodies adapted quickly, though, but now we all looked like hidious monsters.

Monster High School
Today was finals. The test required we scare ten humans. I was a very talented human scarer. I hid in their closets and under their beds, came in through their rooftops and landed on top of their heads. When they wouldn’t scare easy I tied up their kids. Then I’d watch as they’d flip their lids. I went back to school and turned in a recording of it all. With over one thousand human scares, my teacher took a fall. Whispers started amongst the humans about how bad I was to all. When you see X face, hide and crawl.
