Nightmare City

It all started with the collapse of the government. People stopped paying taxes. Police stopped getting paid and quit working. Laws became unenforceable. People started rioting and looting. Eventually the supplies ran out, and things calmed down when barter started. People were forced to respect each other despite no laws, or starve and die, because nobody bartered with the disrespectful. Payment for food was a simple thanks. The city was still in decay, and an old nuclear power plant leaked small amounts of radiation into our city. Our bodies adapted quickly, though, but now we all looked like hidious monsters.
