What Art Taught Me About Starting Over
Finding my rhythm as a Pittsburgh artist creating from real life

I am Lay Simone, and everything I make comes from the middle of what I live. LayMadeIt began as survival, not strategy. I was just trying to make sense of things, to turn what hurt into something that could stand on its own.
Art became a mirror. It showed me who I was when life got loud. Every painting, every design, every late night session taught me that creativity is not a hobby. It is a kind of truth.
Now I paint stories of faith, freedom, and rebuilding. I create for people who have been through enough to understand that beauty is not always soft. It is sometimes born out of pressure.
This is me becoming. One brushstroke, one lesson, one piece at a time.
