The Magic Pencil

English Kids Stories

By Azra khanPublished about a year ago 2 min read

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a boy named Ali. Ali was fond of drawing and making pictures, but he only had old and broken colors. He often dreamed of having beautiful colors and pencils that could bring his imagination to life.

One day, Ali went to the forest to collect firewood. While walking through the dense trees, he noticed a strange glow coming from under a bush. Curious, he moved closer and found a pencil that shone like gold. Ali picked it up and examined it closely. "This doesn’t look like an ordinary pencil!" he thought, and he quickly took it home.

At home, Ali couldn’t resist trying the pencil. He drew a bird on a piece of paper. The moment he finished the last stroke, the bird came to life, flapping its wings and flying around the room. Ali’s eyes widened with amazement. "This pencil is magical!" he exclaimed.

Excited, Ali continued drawing. He drew a small house, and to his astonishment, the house appeared right in front of him. Ali began to think about how he could use the pencil to help others. However, he also realized that this magic had to be used wisely.

A few days later, a famine struck the village. The crops had dried up, and there was no food for the villagers. Ali couldn’t bear to see everyone hungry. He used his magic pencil to create food and water. The villagers were overjoyed and thanked Ali for saving them. Ali felt proud that he had used his gift for a noble cause.

But not everyone was happy for Ali. A greedy man named Jameel heard about the magic pencil and decided to steal it. He approached Ali and said, "Give me this pencil, and I will create treasures and riches beyond your imagination." But Ali refused. "This pencil is not meant for greed," he said. "It is meant to help those in need."

Frustrated, Jameel tried to steal the pencil while Ali was asleep. However, Ali was clever. He had hidden the pencil in a safe place. When Jameel couldn’t find it, he angrily confronted Ali. "Why won’t you share this pencil? Don’t you want to be rich?" he asked. Ali calmly replied, "True riches come from honesty and hard work, not greed."

Jameel felt ashamed and apologized to Ali. Ali forgave him and even used the pencil to help Jameel by creating tools so he could start his own business. From that day forward, Jameel learned the value of hard work and honesty.

Ali continued to use the pencil to help others. He built shelters for the homeless, created books for children, and made toys for those who couldn’t afford them. The villagers admired Ali for his generosity and wisdom.

As time passed, Ali realized that the pencil’s power could also attract danger. So, he decided to hide it in a secret place and only use it when absolutely necessary. He also taught the children in the village about kindness, honesty, and the importance of helping others.

Ali’s story spread far and wide, and he became a hero not just in his village but in neighboring towns as well. People often visited him to hear the story of the magic pencil and to learn from his wisdom.

Moral of the Story:

This story teaches us that power and abilities should always be used for good purposes, and there is no substitute for honesty and hard work.
