
Cairn in Snow Caspar David Friedrich

German Romantic landscape artist Caspar David Friedrich created this painting of a grove of trees. A grove of trees were known to represent initiation ceremonies and concealment in ancient times adn thought t o be sacred and untouchable. These trees which the artist has depicted appear to have been deserted and most of their branches are cut off. In the center of the painting, three stones are piled one on top of the other. The biggest stone stands on top of the two smaller ones, implying the concealment of a burial site.
The Hay Wain John Constable

English artist John Constable created this artwork which became popular in Europe. The painting features a country scene. It is the view of the millpond at Flatford on the River Stour, Flatford Mill was a watermill for grinding corn, It was operated by the Constable family for years and is located about a mile from the artist's birthplace at East Bergholt, Suffolk. The Hay Wain refers to the wooden wagon that was used for transporting cut and dried hay. His artwork was praised by Théodore Géricault, one of the most accomplished representatives of the French Romanticists.
Forest in Autumn Gustave Courbet

French artist Gustave Courbet was an innovative painter and among the most prominent during 19th cnetury French art. He was renowned for creating landscapes in great detail. This artwork of a European forest in the autumn is one of his most famous tree paintings. The artist has depicted a forest with towering trees and vibrant hues in the canopy, creating an atmosphere that is incredibly beautiful and tranquil.
La Grenouillère Pierre-Auguste Renoir

French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir was looked at as one of the most talented 19th century French painters. He created realistic paintings with scenes at locations around the Seine River and the surrounding woodlands. This artwork was done in 1869 depicting the "camembert" a small island with a single tree linked by gangplank to the Ile de la Grenouillere and to the fashionable La Grenouillere floating restaurant and boat-hire at Croissy-sur-Seine near Bougival.

French Impressionist artist Claude Monet co-founded the Impressionist style during his four years at Argenteuil, a small town in the suburbs of Paris. Using his signature style he created the painting with shifting effects of sunlight on the greenery.The painting depicts his wife Camille and their son Jean in their garden at Argenteuil, France surrounded by nature.
Almond Blossoms Vincent van Gogh

Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh created this famous painting with tree as a gift for his brother. His brother married Jo Bonger in the spring of 1889 and presented him with his first child in 1890. They called the boy Vincent in honor of the artist who was the godfather. The painting was presented as a gift to the baby. The almond tree bears realistic buds against a blue sky.
Picking Apples Natalia Goncharova

Russian artist Natalia Goncharova created this artwork in her Neo-Primitive style. It combines the influence of her artworks with the folk iconography and aesthetic of lubki, famous woodcuts that included scenes drawn from Russian life and mythology. This painting is a part of her series of paintings illustrating the harvest.
Avenue of Schloss Kammer Park Gustav Klimt

Austrian artist Gustav Klimt enjoyed creating landscapes and would create painting during summer breaks spent in the Salzkammergut region outside of Salzburg. He enjoyed experimenting with forest paintings.
Four Trees Egon Schiele (Pictured on top)
Austrian artist Egon Schiele gave a lot of depths to his paintings. There were special details like these four trees in autumn with one already shedding most of its leaves and the brilliant sun and mountains in the background.
