Big Ben was designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin in a Neo-Gothic architectural style. When it was completed in 1859, it was the largest and most accurate four-sided clock in the world. The shield on the tower represents all four major regions of the United Kingdom: roses for England, thistles for Scotland, shamrocks for Northern Ireland and leeks for Wales.

Starting August 21, 2017, Big Ben began a four-year renovation. The renovations included adding an elevator, reglazing, repainting the clock dial, upgrading lighting and restoring roof tiles, among other things. On November 13, 2022, the refurbished Big Ben reappeared in front of the public with a complete look, and resumed its daily operation of ringing every 15 minutes.

Everyone has a unique London Eye in their hearts. As one of the iconic buildings on the banks of the Thames, the London Eye is across the river from Big Ben.

The London Eye was originally built to celebrate the millennium, so it is also known as the "Millennium Wheel". The London Eye, with a total height of 135 meters, has 32 cabins of different designs and names, and each cabin can accommodate about 25 passengers. The more special ones are the Private Pod and the Pub Pod. Although there are seats in the cabin, everyone often wants to see the beautiful scenery of London, so it is also very important to choose a good viewing position after entering the cabin.
