Adam Driver (born November 19, 1983) is an acclaimed American actor known for his work with auteur filmmakers. He has received numerous accolades, including two Academy Award nominations, four Primetime Emmy nominations, and a Tony Award nomination.
Driver made his film debut in J. Edgar and gained recognition through supporting roles in Lincoln (2012), Frances Ha (2012), and Inside Llewyn Davis (2013). He won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his leading role in Hungry Hearts (2014) and is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015–2019). His other notable films include Paterson (2016), Silence (2016), and Logan Lucky (2017). He received consecutive Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor in BlacKkKlansman (2018) and Best Actor in Marriage Story (2019).
On television, Driver earned acclaim for his role as an emotionally unstable actor in HBO's Girls (2012–2017), which garnered him three Primetime Emmy nominations. He made his Broadway debut in Mrs. Warren's Profession (2010) and has performed in Man and Boy (2011) and Burn This (2019), the latter earning him a Tony nomination.
A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Driver founded Arts in the Armed Forces, a non-profit organization that provides free arts programming to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families worldwide.
