Morgan Stanley is an American multinational investment bank and financial services firm headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. In 1997, Morgan Stanley merged with Dean Witter Discover & Co., with Dean Witter's CEO, Philip J. Purcell, leading the new entity. The firm reverted to the name "Morgan Stanley" in 2001.
