Vocal Authors, Bring Me Your Kindle Unlimited Books

So that we all might prosper

Recently, I signed up for Kindle Unlimited, the Amazon equivalent of a streaming subscription where you can read as many e-books as you want. So long as the author/publisher sells through Kindle and has enrolled the e-book in Kindle Select.

I also happen to have experience with Kindle Unlimited as an independent author with e-books enrolled in Kindle Select. So I knew that KU reads are counted toward royalties.

A free 30-day trial.

As many e-books as I want.

And Amazon foots the bill for all those royalties.

You may see where I’m going with this.

Yes, I have a blank check from the divine online retailer, and I intend to cash it. Not reading just any books, but books from authors like me. Fellow self-publishers hungry for every sale and every cent they can find to feed the engine of content creation.

And where better to find a wellspring of independent authors than right here on Vocal?

Please, share the link to your e-books in the Comments section. Limited (the irony) to only those in the Kindle Unlimited library, if you would be so kind.

And if you have multiple KU e-books, then share them all, by all means. But I suggest you start with the longest one, since more pages read = more royalties. And I aim to read one book from each author before I start reading any additional books by the same author.

How do you know if your book is in that library?

You should see the Kindle Unlimited logo on the e-book tile on your book’s Amazon page, like the example below.

Then, inspired by the great Mackenzie Davis and her playlist challenges, I intend to return at the end of this sojourn and publish a list of every KU e-book a fellow Vocalite has written. Plus, a few other independent authors that I admire/am close with. Then, if others are inspired to follow my example, they have a great starting point.

Understand, though, that I want to get to everyone’s book within the 30-day limit, so I cannot offer reviews or substantive feedback. The goal here is monetary support and free exposure in the compiled “playlist.” I’m sure you understand.

My free trial expires 2/26/25, so you can submit anytime, but the earlier the better as I can’t guarantee I’ll have time to read it the closer we get to the cutoff. I would still include it in the final list, of course.

So, bring on the e-books!

Oh, sir! Awesome idea and I am gutted I didn't come up with it first lol! I shall be fiddling with my thing to see about making it available for this. But also, this will be a good opportunity for me to read some stuff ahead of buying them because I get Kindle Unlimited! :) Well done sir - and I detect Top Story on the horizon for you.

What a smashing idea, Stephen! I wasn't going to participate here because I am sure you have already read (and reviewed, no less) Glass Dolls. How would you like to be the first to get a look at Summer Leaves though 😜

Are we aiming for only Vocalites or would you like to support a bunch of Canadian girlies that I know?? I think my friends have ebooks but I jumped out of that game! 😅

I've had KU for probably 13 years or more and love it! I've downloaded almost every creator I could find on here but know I have missed some, so hoping to see those links start popping up :) Great idea!

I am not published there but I'm a member I'll definitely look you up!
