Difficulties Of Holidays On Vocal
But I Still Managed To Write And Share

Introduction
Last week I had a wonderful week in Alnwick, but tried to keep up on Vocal, although my time was less than I normally have, plus a little more difficult because I was using a ten-year-old laptop with a faulty keyboard (the space bar does not always register, meaning I have to keep going back to separate words).
In October 2024, I bought a reconditioned Windows 11 laptop to replace the one I am using now. I had tried to sell my old one or give it away, but it was deemed "too old". In October 2025, I checked the Windows 11 laptop before going away, and the solid-state disc died. three days after the guarantee had run out.
I know that I only use laptops on weeks away, maybe three or four times a year, so I thought I would reuse the old laptop. I have just realised the keyboard issue can be solved with awireless keyboard/mouse set-up, as I have for my home desktop and work laptop.
So, What Other Observation On Last Week?
I still managed to produce some stories based on what I saw in Alnwick, but was unable to be as supportive as I normally am, which may have been the laptop or the broadband speed, although all other devices seemed to be fine.
I was unable to do this, which is my normal daily routine on Vocal:
After the issues with being unable to publish last year, I have managed to regrow some of my audience, and this weekend, this happened.

While Vocal bonuses evade me, I am getting reads, which is good.
Conclusion
I am now back home, so expect me to be back to normal. We have two new excellent additions to the admins in the Vocal Social Society, and we are shaking things up a bit there. If you do want to join us, we are here:
