Thoughts On Writing: Stuff You Want To Do vs Stuff You Have To Do

How I Feel When I Am Creating My Vocal Stories

An AI Creation By The Author

Introduction

I was just thinking of my writing on Vocal and how it reflects a lot of things in my life. I don't know if your life and creation processes are the same, but I thought I would set this down anyway, and share it with you.

Everything in life and all the things we touch can be interpreted differently from different views and perspectives. You look at something one and it looks good, and another way maybe not so good.

So What Am I On About

Thinking like this, the stories I write fall into two categories:

  • Those I Have To Do
  • Those I Want To Do

The first lot in life is like washing up, hoovering, mowing the lawn and having to get up and go to work. You might throw in cooking, but sometimes that is fun.

And some recent stories especially the Vocal "How To's" are like that. These are a few examples, though I suppose it's the ones outside of my normal communities that I feel have to be written so I have to put a lot of effort and thought into them, even though lots of people will see them as boring or uninteresting, but I know a few will find them useful and informative.

Then there are things that I want to do. Poems are now a favourite followed by Beat pieces and then Fiction.

This is something that Vocal has done for and probably for many other creators.

Before Vocal I didn't see myself as a poet ( a lot of people still don't 🐱🐱) , and I managed to expand my fiction from horror stories and the Beat Community has allowed me to share my love of music, so here are ones from each of those communities that I loved doing:

Conclusion

I know everyone is different, it would be boring if we were all the same, but you might be a little like me or nothing like me. Thank you for getting this far and I hope that I have given you a few ideas to take on board as you move forward.

The music is "Do Anything You Wanna Do" by Eddie and the Hot Rods.

I have a fairly simple approach. If I don't want to write it, and nobody is paying me to write it, it doesn't get written. True, some of what appears on Vocal is part of me fulfilling a requirement that I set myself (a lot of the playlists fall into this, one way or another) and sometimes that can feel like more of a chore. But even then, I set the requirement - not a third party.

indeed، vocal is a platform where you can write and expose your thoughts however you want to so I am also enjoying this journey and you are having multiple talents like a good article writer، essaayist adnan incredible poet، a over a lil a very good commentator

  • I quit the challenges by Vocal or creators that don't vibe with me. I need to write for myself and if someone else likes it, sí be it. The writing life is not about how many comments I get, but where I go to that tender or broken part of me that must be freed. Your playlists are better than SoundCloud, 😂

  • I only write what I want to because the things I have to write, I may not like to write it and I don't wanna write anything that I don't like hehehehehe
