The Quiet One Who Does It All!

Top Story - February 2025

Ah, the classic feeling of being taken for granted—like you’re always there, doing the thing, and nobody notices until you’re not. It's like being the unsung HERO of your own story, and let me tell you, it doesn’t feel great. You know you’re doing your best, but somehow, it’s just expected. No big deal, right? Just another day in the life of “yeah, they’ll do it, again.

It's like you're the WiFi. Everyone PANICS when you’re gone, but when you’re there? Silence.

It’s that moment when you realize that you’re doing all the heavy lifting, all the little things that add up, and it goes unnoticed because people just assume you’ll always be around to pick up the slack.

And yeah, it stings.

You start wondering if anyone actually sees you, sees how much you care, or if you're just the one they call when there’s NO one else to turn to.

You ain’t a VENDING machine for reliability—you don’t just spit out solutions on demand.

At some point, you gotta hit them with the, “Guess what? I clock out too.” Not because you’re bitter, but because you know your WORTH.

Being reliable doesn’t mean being invisible.

Being strong doesn’t mean being a doormat.

And being the one who always “figures it out” doesn’t mean you gotta do it alone.

But here’s the thing: being taken for granted doesn’t mean you’re not valuable. It means you’re the ROCK people lean on without realizing it. You’re the one who quietly holds everything together while others breeze through.

It’s tough, but honestly? You’re a legend in the making.

And when you finally stop and say,

“Hey, I’m HUMAN, too,”

Just remember, it’s okay to stand up and say, “I deserve to be seen, too.” Because you do. And trust me, the next time you show up, let them wonder. Let them sweat a little. Let them see what happens when the QUIET one finally decides to take a day off from saving the day.

So, don’t let it get to you when you’re taken for granted. You’re the GLUE, the SPARK, and the FORCE behind the scenes.

And when the world finally catches on, they’ll be lucky to have you. Until then, keep doing your thing—just make sure you’re doing it for YOURSELF first.

Like this a lot. The comparison with the Wi-Fi for everyone was gold. It’s so true, especially in the work situations, or if part of a large family.

WOW! 👏🏽 This hit so close to home. That WiFi line? Brutally accurate. It’s sad how often we keep showing up, holding it all together, and it just becomes… expected. I love how you reminded us that being dependable doesn’t mean being invisible. There’s so much power in quietly doing your thing, but there’s also power in stepping back and saying, “Hey, I need a moment too.” This whole piece felt like a pep talk I didn’t know I needed—thank you for that!

I like that you say to keep them waiting a little. We can be good, helpful people. But, we aren't Cinderella. We shouldn't have to live in soot and ashes for being helpful.

This is so great, so well said, so true. Ungrateful they may be, but the day will come when you finally win the day. Lovely thoughts.

I love this! No wonder it got Top Story. "It's like you're the WiFi. Everyone PANICS when you’re gone" is such a razor-sharp observation.

“Hey, I’m HUMAN, too,” Many forget that about me.

it goes unnoticed because people just assume you’ll always be around to pick up the slack. WiFi is not reliable in my country.
