As the antithesis of FOMO, JOMO represents a liberation from the relentless pressure to be perpetually engaged and productive—a response to the 'hustle culture' and prevailing notions of ‘success’. Embracing JOMO means choosing to live life in the slow lane and finding pleasure in social exclusion. By consciously stepping back, avoiding unnecessary overexertion, and freeing ourselves from societal expectations of what we ‘should’ be doing, we shift from fear to joy. In doing so, we reclaim our most valuable resource: time.
