The Countdown
Heading Towards My 2000th Vocal Story

Introduction
The numbers on my Vocal stories are now coinciding with years of my life and they will do up to story number 2024. This is number 1963, so have 37 to create before I hit the big 2000.
This Is How I Am Sort Of Handling It.
Most of these stories will not be anything out of the ordinary, and will be my normal output including hopeful entries into Vocal Challenges, however, some have been chosen because they said something to me in various ways.
This was a sort of milestone and made me think of Victorian explorers often in inhospitable places. It was sthe start of teh century that I was born in.
These were my first two Pantoum poems, which I used to call for peace. They were based on the start and end of the first World War.
1935 was the year my dad and Elvis were born, with a few other smatterings of events around the time.
Four more Pantoum calls for peace, this time based on the start and the end of the Second World War and the Korean War. I am still wondering whether to include the Vietnam War as we can never have too many calls for peace.
This is the final year based one, based on the year that I was born. I had already done a piece based on 1957 (linked in this story) but this is basically a list of events that happened that year (along with my birth). I don't know if this could be used as a challenge, a story based on the year you were born.
Conclusion
This is one of those diary pieces, and I think it is good to record what you are doing as a creator. This morning I wasn't feeling too good, everything that I was thinking of writing was whiney and depressing, but then I stepped back from that to try and write something positive, which if you follow me you know that I have.
1963 was the year that John F Kennedy was assassinated and as a kid, I remember that the TV station took "Bonanza" off and some woman played dreary piano all night.
Thank you for taking your time to wander through this writing diary entry.

Hope you're feeling better now. Looking forward to your 2000th piece!
1963 was when my parents decided I was a newshound. I sat glued to the television set through all the coverage following his assassination. I never told them that it was because I couldn't believe the cartoons weren't coming on & didn't want to miss them when they did. (I had just turned four at the time.)
That's a lot of writing! And, yes, it's good to reflect on the journey and look ahead to what is to come. Bon voyage on your journey to 2,000!
