A Few Notes On Where I Am Creatively
Well Where I Am With My Poetry

Introduction
Forty percent of my Vocal Stories are poems, and the devil in me calls me lazy at the thought of that.
Vocal has just become a platform where I store my stories, nothing else.
I have a great audience and am friends with a handful of Creators, but part of me wonders whether I should keep creating, and another part of me takes out a baseball bat, beats me about the head, tells me not to be so self-pitying and write something else because there is always something to write about.
I've included the song "Comedy" by Shack because it is a beautiful description of how life is sometimes, and the video is pretty good too.
On Poetry
I recently discovered the Pantoum and have found it very similar to the Villanelle in the work and discipline needed to construct one, so although it takes a certain skill to do it I find it relatively easy though others find both a bit scary.
I keep thinking when I write a poem I am being lazy, and this is confirmed by the lack of official recognition, in the face of actual reads and popularity.
I could write a one-word haiku "asetyyli-isovaleryyli-tylosiinitartraatti" is a Finnis pharmacological term, but that, while observationally clever, is very lazy. I have shied away from short-format poetry even for Vocal Challenges, so while I call myself a lazy poet, the reality is that I am not, and most of my poetry goes way over the hundred words required by Vocal.
A recent on was two hundred and fifty words, and a lot of people were impressed with it:
Then I was shocked that this was rated as a Top Story, though this had a thousand words, though every word contained just four letters. Again that was a lot of hard work:
I will leave you with the one that I am most proud of, and alternate take on Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven".
Thank you so much for reading this, it is most appreciated.

As I've been introduced to Pantun (Pantoum) in school at a very young age, it doesn't intimidate me. But a Villanelle does, lol!
I would not call poetry lazy. Nor would I even think of using the same word to describe you, Mike. To be able to communicate effectively with an economy of words & expression is hard enough to do poorly, much less to do it well, my friend.
Poetry is a great form to express our emotions and things that come from the heart. Your poetry shows your creativity, Keep writing,
You're doing amazing work
