In the year 2147, Earth was on the brink of collapse. Decades of environmental neglect, overpopulation, and resource depletion had pushed humanity to its limits. Governments had fallen, replaced by corporate oligarchies that controlled the last remnants of clean water, arable land, and breathable air.
