'Frighten Me! Please?' Winners!
As I write this, there are exactly 100 minutes left in October. Yes, friends and neighbors, sadly, the spooky season is coming to a close. Fortunately, if you're like me, you don't have to wait another year to read a good horror story or watch a spine-tingling thriller on Netflix. These days, authors and Hollywood directors alike push out the chilly stuff every month. Woohoo! Still, I'm saddened to see my favorite month come to an end.

Time Keeps on Slipping...
"Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans", is a quote often attributed to John Lennon. I've been known to say that I'm 'making good time but not getting anywhere'. My grandmother used to call it 'spinning your wheels'. It all means the same thing. The things we do can get in the way of the things we want.

The Sky silent Dance
Chapter 1: The Night Begins It was a quiet evening in the small town of Cedar Pines, where trees stretched towards the heavens, framing a breathtaking canvas of stars every night. People here lived simple lives, enchanted by the beauty that surrounded them. And no one appreciated it more than Maya, a 12-year-old girl with an insatiable curiosity for everything above her head. She would spend hours lying on her rooftop, her eyes fixed on the stars, wondering what secrets they held. Her grandmother, Nana June, often joined her, sharing stories about constellations and the spirits that danced through the sky.

What's Its Name?. Top Story - November 2024.
Names have power. We answer to them, sign them, give nicknames, and when all else fails to ring true we change them. The idea that knowing the name of a thing or a person gives power is ancient and crosses many cultures, religions, and beliefs. bestowing a name grants honor and even power to the name-r over the name-d.

Learning to Let Go
In my journey, learning to let go of past wounds has been both challenging and liberating. We all carry some form of emotional baggage—whether it's from relationships, mistakes, or lost opportunities. I realized, though, that holding onto these pains only kept me from fully living. Here’s my experience of learning to release past wounds and moving forward, a journey I hope may inspire others.

Holidays? Holy Days? Pen It To Win It!. Top Story - October 2024.
The Lead-In Are you ready for the upcoming holidays? We're in that stretch of the year where it feels like they're never ending. Christmas decorations are in stores before Halloween costumes have left them. Thanksgiving is around the corner. And that's not even counting the less well-known holidays (at least in America) like Rosh Hashanah. But hey, rather than stress about the presents you haven't bought yet or how to navigate the tumultuous waters of arranging gatherings that everyone can attend, let's have some stories!
