Make Your Characters Believable, Make Them Quirky
How do you make your characters believable? Whether you write plot-driven novels or character-driven ones, your characters need to seem natural and human. They are the foundation of any great novel. You already know how to build your characters, starting with a tiny spark and fanning that spark until you have a well-formulated character with a personality, motivation, backstory, and voice. But that may not be enough to truly bring your character to life. If you want your character to resonate with your readers, make them quirky.

Do I HAVE To Have a Niche?
I knew growing up, I wanted to be a writer. What I did not know was that there were many universes revolved around writing and they were all different. There are so many niches and topics and types of writing that it can be confusing, overwhelming, and downright discouraging.

Podcasts for Writers
I cannot get enough of podcasts. It is wonderful to hear all of the stories and interviews available from across the world on all kinds of topics, and I do listen to a wide range of topics. As an aspiring writer, I have discovered a few podcasts on writing and books that have fantastic tips and tricks that provide tips or at least let me know I am not alone in whatever challenge I am having.

The Big 1,000. Top Story - February 2024.
Well, how did I get here? – Talking Heads It’s a big moment, to be sure. 1,000 reads. 1,000 times that someone else thought something I wrote on this wild site we call Vocal was worth sticking around to the end. And with all that brainpower expended, I find myself with the official $6.00 USD that was promised for every 1,000 reads that is what makes Vocal+ so exciting.

Onions Have Layers
I am emotional. Not in the way that everyone assumes emotions = crybaby. Emotional in the way that when something may seem inconsequential to you, it really bothers and hurts me. I don't usually say anything though, out of fear of losing people I care about.

Hope Always Has A Place. Content Warning.
Intro I don't know what brought this feeling over me, but I do feel if I walked away from Vocal I would not be missed. I am not going to walk away because it is a good platform for sharing my words, but I will share a little about my descent into the slough of writing despond.
