Results: Lil Pumpkin Nightmares [an unofficial challenge]

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

This challenge came really quick, and passed really fast. It was definitely not open for a whole month like my challenges usually are, and I am late to posting the results (as I usually am, haha...). So.... Let's get right into it!

The Prompt

In case you don't remember, the prompt was to:

Write a micro-fiction horror story that takes place on Halloween night, featuring a jack-o-lantern!

THE TOP THREE

In reverse order, as per alwaaays.

3RD PLACE: "Halloween Night" by Sarah Parker

Sarah crafts her own little fantastic spin on a Halloween classic. She is a lovely upcoming writer. She creates a spooky setting and ends this titillating piece with a tremendous last thought of impending doom. Great work, Sarah!

2ND PLACE: "Mimcry" by S. A. Crawford

This tiny tale is quite obviously inspired. S. A. Crawford uses great literary talent to craft a unique story about a particularly odd Jack-O-Lantern. You'll get lost in the little details before you get swept up off your feet in the last paragraph! Great use of the small word count, S. A.!

1ST PLACE: "Halloween Magic" by Altum Veritas

Altum! I swear, I'm blown away by your work every time I read it! Altum Veritas is a magnificent writer who knows how to keep you on your toes. My heart was pumping the whole way through! Altum uses a variety of literary techniques and incredible wordy descriptions to set the mood before turning your world upside down. A brilliant creator on Vocal and a well deserved win!

I would also like to note that Altum submitted two entries, but could only be featured in the top three once (due to contest rules), but I believe their other entry is almost just as good! You can find it below!
