Putting Finger To Keyboard
And Pen To Paper

Introduction
These are the thoughts that come into my head when I am figuring out something to write. I am sure other creators have similar thoughts and then take off in a different direction from me.
By writing these words, I have started my first piece of the day, and often the first word is the most difficult to get down, though why the second is easier, I do not know.
So What Happens?
Very often, I will log on to Vocal and find something to complain about, but I don't think that people want to hear about MY gripes about Vocal, Life or anything unless it affects them. Something on Vocal creeped me out yesterday, but I cannot say anything about it.
So then I go looking for other writing directions.
The poetry thing is difficult because it always makes me feel I am being lazy, because I use standard formats, and they do not get Top Stories. The only ones Vocal seems to like are freeform and haiku.
Still, I do enjoy the challenge and know that my writing is excellent and appreciated by my audience.
I always want my writing to be positive, even when I drop into dystopia or horror, I am fine with scaring people, but I don't want them to feel upset, sad or sorry for me.
I want to end up happy and smiling with my friends and audience.
There are two open challenges, so I may use those as prompts. I also have a few artist friends who allow me to use their work in my poems and stories, and I can even use my own AI art for inspiration.
As well as I can go out for a walk and may see something that can give me an idea for a story or a poem.
Conclusion
Sorry if I have been rambling, and I hope I haven't wasted your time.
The song is "You're My Favourite Waste Of Time" by Owen Paul.
Some people say any form of art is a waste of time, but writing, music and love are what we should live for,

It's always nice to hear another writer's process. Perhaps I'll share mine as well. Thanks for sharing, Mike!
"Vocal seems to like are freeform and haiku" totally agree Mike. They don't seem to like anything that rhymes even though there are some great poems presented that have a definite rhyme.
You are truthful writer Mike. We all learn from you no matter what you write. Always good jobs.
I absolutely love the title, it sounds poetic. When I got to the end of the introduction. I like that I then realise that it was your attempt to make a start. That reads like magic to me. I didn't realise that the poems vocal seem to like were freeforms and haikus. Your writing is excellent and very much appreciated by me, among many others, I'm sure. Oh I know the feeling. Not wanting us to feel upset, sad or sorry for you. Al art for inspiration is a good idea. Going outside to search for ideas for a story and poem is a thing I like to do. There's always something out there. That's how I wrote, 'Invisible Strings' You haven't wasted my time at all. I love your rambling. I always learn something for them. I learnt about you and that is a story in itself. It don't have to be fancy. It only has to be human. That's the part we are all craving. Especially now, with everything that is happening 🤗❤️
