On Vocal Challenges: Official And Unofficial
Finding Our Inspiration
Introduction
Each month we try to gather up the Unofficial Vocal Challenges in the Vocal Social Society and collect them on a thread so that people can find them easily and take some inspiration. This is the thread for September 2024:
My Observations
Vocal only makes a few challenges Top Stories so I am pushing mine which has had three entries so far.
At the end of the month, I give three random entries a dollar tip, but I see some of these challenges offer up to $20 for the winners. I see my challenges as prompts and that is how I use most challenges including the official Vocal Challenges that you can find here.
When Vocal Challenges are down to one or even zero, people start complaining, and I point out that Vocal Resources have lots of prompts for story creation which you can find here:
I do wish Vocal would allow us to use a different image, that one is so dark and boring.
I also point out the threads in The Vocal Social Society but some Creators will only enter official Vocal Challenges.
I try and support all the challenges I can, even, or sometimes especially if I find them difficult for me.
I was very sad to see that some of them I am the only person who has read and left a comment. Sometimes the challenge is too difficult for me like this one from Gary Dean Holdaway, but it might be right for you.
Conclusion
One of the great things about Vocal is that certain creators will fill in gaps where they can, providing advice and inspiration to others, and that means we can usually find something to make us put virtual pen to digital paper.

If You Love Me, You'll Do It
I met Jason when I was five years old. I could say that I loved him from the moment I saw him. He was so handsome to me and I felt in awe by his presence. When they introduced him as the new kid in school, I wanted to be his friend right away. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember his smile and how he didn't seem shy. He appeared confident and ready to learn. I waved at him and said "hello," before anyone else could even say a word. He sat next to me, and I asked him if he wanted to be friends. He looked so happy as he said, "Yes!"

I did recommend a community for unofficial challenges. How on earth are we supposed to find them all. I have read other entries to challenges with no reciprocal read from entrants. It is easy to get discouraged on Vocal and give up if you don't really love writing. Wait, did I do your prompt. Wil check for sure.
I must admit I thought my challenge was going to go down much better than it has. I've had one entry lol
