My Very First Paperback

I finally did it!

I wrote my first paperback, and I am over the moon about it.

My book cover (above) was created using Kindle Direct Publishing's cover creator.

My new book is a romance humor about a young woman called Cazzie.

Cazzie is a bisexual female who has managed to talk to, and date women in her past, but she has a problem,

She can't talk to men!

It has been three years since Cazzie has had a boyfriend, while Leah, her best friend can pull men at the flick of a light switch. Feeling fed up with herself, Cazzie sets herself a mission,

'to find a boyfriend who will stay!'

All of her past boyfriends left her because they decided that she was boring due to her inability to talk to men.

Leah introduces her to two men, Jordan and Nick who she meets at Tornados, which is their usual night club.

Nick is somewhat attracted to Cazzie, but chooses Leah instead, while Jordan falls in love with Cazzie on a major level.

Cazzie really likes Jordan, but everytime he advances, she makes up excuses to not entertain it.

Cazzie discovers that she must work through her communication problems with men, if she wants to start a relationship with Jordan.

She must also make her mind up as to whether she wants a boyfriend full stop, since she starts her mission unable to decide what she wants.

This is a dating romance, which is also full of humor.

It will make you laugh, scorn the characters, and get mad at their attitudes as you read.

It's amazing that I finally did it!

I'm now working on three other books, and I can't wait to get them finished.

Writing a book isn't easy, especially if your just starting out.

The best way to start, is to forget the jargon, and forget the rules. Get some words on a page; even if it is just half a sentence, or one sentence, and just write about whatever is inside your head. You will find that you'll come up with ideas, character, and the plot of your story as you write. If you do get stuck for ideas, or you're looking for specific ideas; do your research!

Read other stories, look for images, and take note of every day events that are happening around you.

Stories can be found everywhere, if you look for them.

I procrastinated for a long time, when I first started. I felt that I had to write to the perfection of famous authors in order for my work to be noticed. I then spent years thinking that I wasn't good enough.

If you try to write exactly like another author, you won't get very far because you won't be writing in your own authentic voice, and you'll be looking for words that belong to other people instead of using your own words.

That can turn writing into a bigger struggle than it should be. As a general rule, your work should be your own, and your book will appeal more if you write it using your own ideas, and with authenticity.

I am so proud of myself today.

In my opinion, I am now officially an author.

I have one more writing goal left which is to keep up with my new found career.
