My Top Stories , Ranked

I never imagined I would be ranking my top stories, but hey... After reading Mother Combs's piece on the subject, I thought it would be a fun idea! The original concept comes from the amazing Ms. Judey Kalchik! Shout out to both of these lovely writers!

I have been writing on Vocal for over a year now, and I've had about 13 Top Stories! I remember joining Vocal, and I used to get first on the leaderboard for 'emerging creators' even if I didn't get a Top Story. The journey has been incredible!

Time to rank!! Hehehehe (excluding my Top Story "Challenge Prompt".)

13. Voices in my head.

This was my first ever Top Story, I remember logging onto Vocal and seeing this on the front page for Top Stories and was shocked. (Back when Vocal had 2 best stories big and bold on the front page). I never expected it to get Top Story as I received the award 16 days after I published it. I don't like this story to be honest. 😅😅

12. BellaDonna

I think it was an interesting concept and twist, but I think I confused readers too much with the psychology in this piece!

11. Long Distance Relationship

I remember being very amazed when this got Top Story. I wrote this story within 20 minutes after believing my boyfriend was acting sneaky beind my back, and I didn't expect to be rewarded with Top Story. Fun fact: I'm still dating him to this day!

10. Desire for my chemistry teacher

This is actually my most top-liked story and I wasn't aware of that until now I checked. I don't have any opinion on this, I thought it was a fun and taboo memory to write about. I enjoyed writing this!

9. My Work Boyfriend

I have to say, I think this was one of my most iconic stories. This story kind of put my name out there on Vocal, I met heaps of writers after writing this piece and having it on the front page of Vocal TS. But to be critical of myself, I don't like my writing on this piece😅

8. She's nowhere near.

I recently got a Top Story for this. Although it's a tribute to my friend, I'm ranking my stories more on my artistic creations. However, my friend who passed away loved the number 8!

7. In My Head.

I think this was more of my enjoyed story by readers, I think it was incredible, but it can sit at number 7!😅

6. She cries in her dream of forest

As much as I adoreee this piece with my whole heart. It's too short!! I could've written more. But the title, the picture, the storyline... I adore everything.

5. T w o - F a c e d

One of my favourite psychological stories I've written! I loveeddd this concept, it was everything! I got a lot of comments on this story too!

4.Shades of blue

This was one of my deeper and more meaningful stories. I'm proud of the outcome, writing, art, and everything of this piece. It is a stunning piece, but 4th fits it!

3. Tranquil dreams

This was my first time adding music to my stories. I thought that music would enhance the storyline and influence the articular aesthetic. Since then, I've been obsessed with adding a track to my stories to flow with my words & storyline!

1 & 2. Zahrál mi na srdce čepelí & Tears of Darkness

I hate picking and choosing so these are my top 2 favourite stories! I loved the concept and idea I came up with for "Zahrál mi na srdce čepelí" I thought it would be an interesting take on the meaning I wanted to depict, I felt like it was a lot of readers' fav too! "Tears of Darkness" is also one of my favourites. The darkness both physical and metaphorical of someone who is missing, I loved the outcome of this story. I believe this was some of the reader's favourite piece I've written too!
