How I Write A Pantoum
Another Simple Poetic Form

Introduction
I have to thank Vocal for introducing me to the pantoum as one of their tags in Poets.
So what I will show you is how I actually create a pantoum, and then hopefully you will be able to try it yourself without too much trepidation and maybe a pantoum will then get a Top Story.
So What Is A Pantoum?
Here is a definition
It is Malaysian in origin and can be any length, but I tend to stick to four quatrains.
A pantoum is similar to a villanelle in that it uses repetititon to emphasise a points, athough a villanelle usually has a single point and Pantoum can have many
I have included a very powerful pantoum from Raych Jackson on the racist murder of Derrion Albert.
Here Are My Pantoums On Vocal
This was my last one, empasising destruction as art:
Here are a few more that I have published on the platform
How I Write a Pantoum
This is the result of the video below, it is very simple just based on the prompts and challenges that we have on Vocal, official and unofficial.
This is a short video showing the contruction of the pantoum above and hopefully it will help you create your own.
Conclusion
I hope there is enough information for you to attempt a pantoum. It is just one of many poetry forms, but I believe it is something that every writer that I know could use.
Feel free to share yours in the comments if you feel so inclined.
I also created a "How I Write A Villanelle" piece which may interest you here.
