Empower Faith-Based Voices on Vocal-Media
Inclusivity and Diversity Builds for a Stronger Vocal Community
I am crusading to get a Faith-based community added to Vocal Media. I understand the reluctance to delve into this topic of faith, religion, spirituality, God, evil, prayer, and belief.

I get it that the Vocal team may have determined that a faith-based community might be too controversial or divisive. My argument is that politics is also a controversial and divisive topic and yet Vocal has a community for these types of conversations called Swamp. Politics, from what I see, can be just as controversial and divisive as religion, faith, and spirituality.
If Vocal can allow one controversial topic to have its own community why can't another have its voice?
A faith-based community would be a driver for individuality and diversity. There are thousands of religions, forms of spirituality, faiths, and beliefs. It is not just Christianity.
Vocal Media should open the doors to the very wide open spectrum of faith and allow its creators from around the world, from all walks of life, from diverse beliefs, and from all angles of thought and philosophy have a voice so that they may delve further into their own spirituality in order to learn more about themselves and learn more about those around them.

We, the undersigned vocal media creators, fervently advocate for the establishment of a dedicated faith-based community on Vocal Media. Recognizing the diverse tapestry of voices that make up your platform, we believe it is crucial to provide a space specifically tailored for those who wish to express themselves within the context of their faith.
A faith-based community on Vocal Media would foster inclusivity, allowing creators to share their unique perspectives, stories, and insights rooted in their beliefs. By creating this dedicated space, you not only celebrate diversity but also acknowledge the profound impact faith can have on the creative process.
Such a community would serve as a platform for dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect among creators who share a common foundation in faith. It goes beyond mere content creation; it is about cultivating connections, bridging gaps, and fostering a sense of belonging within the broader Vocal Media community.

I am glad you are standing up for a community for faith- religion. I know a lot of former Vocal members who left before because their stories was denied due to religion and faith story. They are still writing but on medium platform.
Perhaps you should add Celtic Christianity, which I just discovered it existed a few days ago.
I wonder if in this crusade those with no faith/religion are also considered and will be able to express their thoughts without being censored, criticised, or attacked. I don’t discuss religion or no religion in public since it’s proven to be divisive and created problems where there were none before. I recently made observation about a chapel for all faiths in Gatwick airport. I’m not sure humans are able to be truly respectful of other peoples’ different views wgen it comes to religion. It’s s topic more divisive than politics and one that has been a cause of wars and hatred for thousands of years. It would be nice if people would learn to live in harmony despite their religious differences. And as said at the start, what about those with no faith/ religion at all? People should not be afraid to say they don’t belong to any faith/religion.
In general I support your bid to have this community added, I do also have a policy of not talking religion as it has turned into heated arguments. I am not saying no, I promise to give this the serious thought it deserves.
Freedom of expression is often called freedom of expression. I agree with you. When humans believe in something that gives them hope, it makes them better humans. It doesn't matter if it is deity-based or not. All would be welcome and perhaps we could learn from each other.
I understand the hesitations with a Faith-based community but I remember when there were hesitations about a Men community too. I think it's a risk worth taking and that the community on Vocal is worth trusting with this responsibility. Like all the communities, we can choose what we engage with. :) One of the many, many beauties of Vocal! 💗 I'm interested to see what this conversation brings! I would love to learn more about people's experiences with faith, especially in such strange times all across the globe.
Honestly, I feel that the Humans community already covers this topic, as most faiths are based on a relationship with whatever god you choose to believe in. Also, I consider the Humans community to be kind of the default anthropologist community. But other faith based articles could fit into the History section, as long as they're not presenting belief as fact.

Given your logic in appealing to the other controversial comments (or potentially so), I agree. I think it’s risky, but so are the others, lol. Not risky because of disagreement, but because I don’t want to see the community be overrun with prosthelytizing (doesn’t matter from which religion). I view that as a kind of spamming. Sharing testimony is completely different, of course. Perhaps that has been a reason for not having one? I have no idea. But I definitely would love to see this community come into existence. I totally agree. I have had work rejected due to "religious content" and sometimes the line is a bit tricky to discern. I do understand the controversial aspect, but, as you point out, so are politics and sex.
I think this is a great idea. I've signed the petition. I've found that the vocal community overall is really open to new perspectives, and in my experience, everyone has been very respectful. I think exploring the diversity of faith is a great learning opportunity, building a deeper understanding of the human condition.

I'm neither religious nor an atheist. I believe there's a God but I've lost faith in all religions. With that being said, I still want a faith based community on Vocal. I wouldn't accept that it's controversial as a reason because like you mentioned, there's the Filthy, the Swamp, Potent and Pride community. So let's keep our fingers crossed. I WILL SIGN THE PETITION AS LONG AS IT IS DIVERSIVE. I NOW AM MORE SPIRITUAL THAN RELIGIOUS. I HAVE MY SAGE, INCENSE, AND MOTHER OF GUADALUPE CANDLE FROM MY DAYS IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. I LIKE THE SPIRITUALITY OF NATIVE AMERICANS.
I signed the petition earlier today. I'm not religious. I'm a former Christian who converted to Judaism and later settled on atheism after also trying on Buddhism and some Paganism. That said, just because I'm not religious doesn't mean I don't appreciate the holy texts or the philosophies. In fact, I'm very interested in both (and not for nothing but I can go toe to toe with most Biblical scholars, just sayin'). You're right, politics is divisive, sexuality is divisive, race is divisive, so what? The way we get past the division is to put it all out there, debate, discuss, listen, read, learn. You absolutely deserve a space to express whatever you want, from whatever faith or spiritual perspective, or even from an absence of either. Consider me a Godless heathen that's on your side. :)

My only disappointment with this article is that I could not find the Sikh community of faith represented in the picture above, an unintended irony since their faith embraces the validity & best to be found in all faiths. That having been said, I'm off to sign the petition even now.
