Do I Need To Write Another Vocal Story?
The Difference Between Creation And Content

Introduction
This is kicked off by Spotify's CEO describing what it carries as nothing more than content that makes it money. It really could be anything. As far as he is concerned it could be music, hot dogs or pork bellies, it's irrelevant as long as the money keeps rolling in for him.
The music is "Storyteller" by Morgan Harper Nichols with Jamie Grace because we are all story tellers.

So Do I Need To Write Another Vocal Story?
I do feel that what I few as a creative enterprise Vocal see as just content that will bring in money (I don't pretend to know how Vocal works, so I assume I am as bad as my perception of Vocal).
If I never write anothe Vocal Story (Ironic that I am writing one to tell you about this) it will not affect Vocal in the slightest. There are two thousand and four hundred of my stories on the platform, so even my stanchest most supportive fans will never read all my work and will always be able to find something new.
If someone were to read a different one of my stories every day it would take them nearly eight years to read them all, pocketing me around fifteen dollars in read fees. That's assuming I stop publishing Vocal stories.
But... And It's A Big But
I love writing and I love sharing things I see every day, things that come into my head and many more things. Vocal is a brilliant platform that allows me to do just that, and in my opinion, there isn't one better despite its many faults.
Others may feel the same way.
There will be days when you feel invisible and unappreciated but it does not stop you from being able to share what you want to share, whatever that is.
There will be days when you can't or don't feel like writing, and that is fine. Don't force things.
You can always write and publish, sometimes very short pieces like this, but you can put these things out there.
Conclusion
Vocal may see my work as just content, but I see it as worthy creation, and I believe all the creators see their work as I do.
So keep writing, keep sharing, and you will be read and encouraged.

The irony of reading this one as I push to get one more article live before my V+ membership expires tomorrow 😁 (Not that I couldn't publish it after, but why not take advantage of the better compensation per read while I still have it?)
Yes, always keep writing although they're short pieces!
Each of your pieces feels so thoughtful - definitely more creation than content, in my opinion! This is a wonderfully encouraging read, Mike. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this!
Fifteen dollars for eight years of reads seem like a bargain for Vocal!
I need your boosts! I have struggled with feeling rejected after my concerns with AI, Bots, etc and know I have posted some very good writing that is not recognised. I also know, so have hundreds of other people posted excellence that goes unrewarded. In the end we write because that's what we are, writers. I like Vocal as it took me from a place of pain to a community of support and new friendships I never thought possible. So, here I am, still!
Great article for you to motivate me as well to keep writing.
I love reading your motivational articles. I think it keeps a lot of us going.😊
