Banffy Castle is located in the village of Bontida, in the heart of Transylvania. It is also known as the “Versailles of Transylvania.” The castle was built in the Renaissance style. It is the most haunted fortification in Romania. The castle can be leased to host conferences, camps, weddings, cultural workshops, and many other events. On-site is the Art Cafe, and the park and the lake behind the castle are ideal for picnics.

Bran Castle will take you in the steps of the most famous count around—Count Dracula. You just might bump into him. This is one of the castles in Romania that has become an iconic tourist attraction in Transylvania. Due to the popularity of the novel “Dracula” and Hollywood movies, this is also known as Dracula’s Castle.

Among the highlights are a secret passage, the Queen’s room with the library, and a lovely yard with a well. If you throw a coin into the well, it will mean that you’ll return to this lovely place at least once more in your lifetime.
Cantacuzino Castle (pictured above) is located on Zamora Street in Busteni, a small town in the Bucegi Mountains. It is a historic landmark that was built between 1911 and 1914 in the Neo-Renaissance architectural style. Cantacuzino Castle is part of the impressive cultural legacy of the Cantacuzino family, whose origins go back one thousand years to the Byzantine Empire. Each room has its own particular wooden ceiling with decorative beams, while the stained Murano glass windows are adorned with portraits of the family’s ancestors.

Corvin Castle is considered a monument built in the Gothic style. It is one of the largest castles in Europe. It has been made popular in films such as the horror film “The Nun” and the Bollywood movie “Singh is Bling.” This castle is also known as Hunedorara Castle or Hunyadi Castle. It is located in Hunedoara. Corvin Castle has tall towers, balconies, and thick walls of fortification. Visitors can see huge halls, chambers, a torture chamber, and an inner courtyard. The castle comes with dark stories and bone-numbing legends from the past.

Jidvei Castle was built in the French Renaissance style and is located in Central Romania. When restored, Baroque elements were added. The castle has large round towers. Today it is known for winemaking and wine cellars.

The Palace of Culture is a Neo-Gothic palace in the city of Lasi. It has 298 rooms. Today it is home to several museums, including the Museum of Science and Technology, Museum of Art, and Museum of Ethnography.

Peles Castle is located in Sinaia in Prahova Valley and is surrounded by the amazing Bucegi Mountains. The film “A Christmas Prince” was filmed here. The castle has more than 160 rooms, a theater hall, and a royal lodge.

The library has rare books with leather covers, and there is a shelf that hides a secret door. Today it is home to a museum.

The lovely courtyard has a fountain and statues.

Rasanov Castle, or Fortress, perches atop a rocky hill in the Carpathian Mountains. It was built by the Teutonic Knights. The castle features a mix of Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. Inside the fortress there is a museum that briefly presents elements of local history and the area's habits and crafts and also gathers artifacts and weapons. It contains the following sections: document photocopies, weapons, tools, stamps, and period objects

Sturdza Palace is located in the village of Miclauseni. It was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The castle is surrounded by a large garden with ornamental trees, flowers, and alleys.
